Morphettville horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:01) Furphy BM82 (1550m)
#7 – Elusive Nature @ $3.80 – Bet Now
Will Clarken lines up the four-year-old mare that scored an overdue win at Murray Bridge last time out.
The daughter of Sepoy is a four-time winner that has class on her side and she showed that when racing in Sydney.
54kg on the back helps and she loves this distance.
Race 2. (12:36) Tab BM64 (1000m)
#1 – Thereabearinthere @ $2.30 – Bet Now
The two-year-old was a superb winner on debut at Morphettville and although beaten last start, he could rebound.
He won by 3.8 lengths on debut before taking on a good field last start. He couldn’t quite keep up with the likes of Forever Free, but this is a big drop back in class.
Expect a better run back in this grade.
Race 3. (13:11) Schweppes BM66 (1400m)
#4 – Tubby Two Tracks @ $11 – Bet Now
Punters are getting good odds for Tubby Two Tracks, which has won two of her 10 starts. The filly has been mixing her form this season, but she is high quality on her day.
The daughter of Declaration of War has enough ability to win in this grade and the double-figure odds are generous.
Take the $11 on offer.
Race 4. (13:46) Fleurieu Milk Company BM58 (1550m)
#8 – Crypto Currency @ $4.40 – Bet Now
Crypto Currency is coming off a win at Gawler where he scored by a half-length. It was a gritty victory after leading throughout and his natural barrier speed is a good asset.
The three-year-old now owns two wins from five starts and he won’t have any trouble finding the front from the inside barrier.
$4.40 is a good price from bookmakers and it could shorten on race day.
Race 5. (14:21) Grant Burge BM68 (1300m)
#4 – Task and Purpose @ $6.50 – Bet Now
Task and Purpose has been running well enough in Sydney and Melbourne to be considered here. The four-year-old mare is having her first start on this track but it is a track that should suit.
She has the ability to win a race like this and punters are getting worth taking. She could have been a $4 chance, so the $6.50 is a fair price from bookies.
Race 6. (15:01) Caudo Vineyard @BM78 (2250m)
#1 – Budd Fox @ $5.50 – Bet Now
Budd Fox continued to grind away last start and eventually came away with a three-length victory. The Henry Dwyer-trained gelding relished racing on this track after facing tough opposition in Melbourne.
He has every chance to remain unbeaten at Morphettville and despite rising in weight, he’s more than capable of coping with it.
Race 7. (15:41) Winning Edge Presentation BM82 (1000m)
#9 – Flostar @ $3.20 – Bet Now
Flostar is gunning for three consecutive wins after scoring at Bendigo and Sale. The three-year-old by Zoustar won by 4.8 lengths last start, so that was an impressive outing.
She has now scored four wins from 10 starts and she looks a nice sprinter in the making. Punters are coming for her during the week and that is not surprising.
Race 8. (16:21) AAMI BM68 (1300m)
#1 – Analytica @ $5.50 – Bet Now
Value is with Analytica, which scored a win at Sale three back and followed it up with consecutive placings.
The four-year-old gelding has changed stables and that could result in immediate success. He should enjoy running at Morphettville and getting the inside draw is an advantage.
$5.50 is a good price and it is worth taking.
Race 9. (17:00) TAB BM68 (1000m)
#2 – Symphonette @ $4.20 – Bet Now
Symphonette didn’t lose any admirers when running third last time out. She didn’t quite get the best of luck during the run and her win two back is a better form guide.
The daughter of Helmet owns a win and a placing from two starts at the circuit and she could add to that record here.
