We have expert betting tips for the card this Saturday at Morphettville that features nine quality betting races.
It’s another quality meeting in South Australia and we have our best value selections available.
Morphettville horse racing tips
Race 1. (11:51) Jimmy’s Bar & Grill BM64 (1250m)
#2 – Strike Award @ $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Strike Award comes off a second placing at Morphettville on debut and he was only a nose behind the winner.
The two-year-old gelding was well-backed on debut and he has attracted more attention here, which is a good sign.
Barrier two is ideal and we’re expecting a big effort.
Race 2. (12:26) Leconfield BM62 (1000m)
#9 – Dana Point @ $3.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Brent Stanley-trained three-year-old filly didn’t fire at the end of her last campaign, but she’s talented.
She is a well-bred filly by I Am Invincible that comes off a trial win at Tatura and we’re not surprised at the odds available now.
Jessica Eaton rides and she goes best at this distance.
Race 3. (13:01) G.H. Mumm Maiden Plate (1300m)
#12 – Turfitt @ $2.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Richards-trained three-year-old comes off consecutive placings and she won’t take long to break maiden grades.
She was 1.8 lengths behind the winner last time out at Murray Bridge and carrying 55.5kg is ideal.
Punters have come for her significantly and she could start as the odds-on favourite on race day.
Race 4. (13:36) Adelaide Galvanising 0MW (1400m)
#5 – Thanasi @ $13 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Thanasi owns two wins from his last five starts, which also includes two placings. He comes off a second placing at Hamilton and there is nothing wrong with that form.
The six-year-old has finished in the money in 11 of his 20 starts and he gets 3kg off his back, so he is worth including at the odds.
$13 is a great price and we’re sticking with him.
Race 5. (14:16) Tab BM68 (1400m)
#2 – Star of Uma @ $1.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Star of Uma comes off three placings and although punters are growing frustrated, she is too talented to overlook.
The three-year-old daughter of I Am Invincible owns two wins from seven starts and she was only a half-length behind the winner last start.
Barrier two is ideal and we’re happy to take the $1.80.
Race 6. (14:56) Furphy BM76 (1000m)
#9 – Hypersonic @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The four-year-old was too good for them three back at Morphettville and he is unbeaten after two starts on this track.
He is a talented son of Brazen Beau that owns three wins from eight starts, which is good enough form for this contest.
He loves the distance and punters are still getting each-way odds.
Race 7. (15:36) Holdfast Insurance BM60 (1250m)
#7 – Our Deep Agenda @ $6.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Our Deep Agenda comes off three placings from his last four starts and there is nothing wrong with that form.
The four-year-old gelding has yet to win at Morphettville, but that was a nice effort at Murray Bridge last start and getting 2kg off his back helps.
Punters get each-way odds and we’re confident of a big effort.
Race 8. (16:16) David Thomas Memorial BM76 (1550m)
#9 – Highly Discreet @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Phillip Stokes-trained filly scored a win at Murray Bridge last start and we like her chances to win again.
She is a two-time winner from 13 starts and although barrier 14 isn’t going to help her chances, she owns a fine turn-of-foot.
Expect her to settle back and flash home late.
Race 9. (16:55) Charlie Hoile Cup BM74 (2250m)
#1 – Canford @ $3.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Ryan Balfour-trained six-year-old is a two-time winner on the track and he’s a professional type.
He is a six-time winner that has shown good consistency this campaign and that shouldn’t be overlooked in an even betting contest.
$3.40 is a price worth taking and getting 3kg off his back brings him into contention.
