We have expert betting tips for the card this Saturday at Morphettville that features nine quality betting races.
Group 1 racing continues in South Australia and we have our best bets throughout the day.
Morphettville horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:07) The Junction BM62 (1000m)
#12 – Miss Daniel @ $4.40 – Bet @ Neds
Miss Daniel won on debut before running three solid races without getting much luck.
The three-year-old filly finished third at Morphettville last time out and she was only narrowly beaten on the line.
We like where she’s heading and the 3kg claim adds to her appeal.
Race 2. (12:42) G.H. Mumm Autumn Final (1400m)
#3 – My Boy Birmingham @ $5.50 – Bet @ Neds
My Boy Birmingham owns four wins from eight starts and it’s tough to overlook that record.
The four-year-old didn’t fire a shot at Flemington two back but he bounced back with a fourth at Morphettville last start.
Drawing barrier 18 isn’t ideal but can have made room for him at the each-way odds.
Race 3. (13:17) South Australia Sires’ Produce (1400m)
#1 – Twin Stars @ $2.90 – Bet @ Neds
Twin Stars scored a win on debut at Murray Bridge before finishing second behind See You in Heaven last time out.
That is an excellent form guide for a race like this and we’re not surprised by the betting support coming his way.
Barrier three is ideal and punters should be confident.
Race 4. (13:52) David Thomas Memorial BM82 (1200m)
#12 – Point Blaze @ $5.50 – Bet @ Neds
Point Blaze is only a three-time winner from 21 starts, but the daughter of Shamus Award runs her best races on this track.
She owns two wins and four placings at Morphettville and she’s also a terrific bet over the sprinting distances.
Carrying 54kg is ideal and we fancy her chances of winning.
Race 5. (14:27) Grand Syndicates BM82 (1100m)
#3 – Meteorite @ $4.20 – Bet @ Neds
The sprinter didn’t have any luck when held up for a run last start so he’s worth sticking with on Saturday.
He was only 1.1 lengths behind a smart winner and he arguably should have gone straight past them.
Despite his odds drifting from an opening quote of $3.80, he’s our top pick and we’re expecting a return to winning form.
Race 6. (15:02) ATC Provincial Series Final BM75 (1800m)
#5 – Capricorn Ridge @ $11 – Bet @ Neds
Capricorn Ridge is already a two-time winner this preparation and that includes a win at Morphettville.
The four-year-old comes off a sixth at Murray Bridge but he’s capable of bouncing back to his best form and dropping in weight helps.
Punters have taken the early odds and he could firm to a single-figure chance.
Race 7. (15:42) Adelaide Galvanising Guineas (1600m)
#1 – Illation @ $1.30 – Bet @ Neds
Skinny odds are available for Illation, who has looked like a potential group-winning type early on.
The Price/Kent-trained three-year-old won on debut at Pakenham by 4.5 lengths before winning at Morphettville by 3.8 lengths.
He could be a star of the future and the $1.30 is worth including in multi bets.
Race 9. (17:00) James Squire BM64 (1050m)
#3 – Rejinsky @ $8.50 – Bet @ Neds
The five-year-old son of Redoute’s Choice showed pace when winning at Tamworth fresh up and he could get back to his best form.
He didn’t fire in two starts at Sunshine Coast, but the change in stable could help and he’s an interesting runner.
He’s unbeaten at the distance and we’re including him at value odds.
