Morphettville horse racing tips

Race 1. (11:56) G.H. Mumm BM80 (2014m)

#7 – Laundy @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Laundy finished fourth fresh up at Sandown before running fifth at Caulfield behind Blue Ocean.

The Busuttin/Young-trained four-year-old comes off strong form in Melbourne and that typically stacks up well in Adelaide.

Damien Oliver rides and the $4 might not last long.

Race 2. (12:31) David Coles Am Stakes (1200m)

#1 – Karacasu @ $3.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Karacasu couldn’t run down Cloudy last start but he was strong when scoring at Morphettville two starts back.

The Jolly-trained two-year-old loves the track and we expect him to be competitive at this level. It’s a tough field, but we’re not surprised by the money coming for him.

He should go close with luck from the barrier.

Race 3. (13:06) Fleurieu Milk Company BM72 (1050m)

#11 – Maddox @ $4.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Maddox is a three-year-old filly that comes off a five-length victory at Ballarat, which was a top effort.

The daughter of Deep Field handled the tricky field with ease and she gets an inside draw and only 54kg on her back.

It’s not an easy field to beat, but she has more upside than most.

Race 4. (13:41) Proud Miss Stakes (1200m)

#1 – Rubisaki @ $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Rubisaki returned to form when placing at Morphettville last start and it could be a sign of things to come.

The Patrick Payne-trained four-year-old was only 1.3 lengths behind Instant Celebrity at Group 1 level, which bodes well in this company.

She demands attention and a win is expected.

Race 5. (14:21) SA Fillies Classic (2500m)

#4 – Mimi’s Award @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Mimi’s Award comes off back-to-back wins at Pakenham and Wangaratta, which is terrific form for this contest.

The three-year-old filly comes off a seven-length win and although against easier company, she looks capable of handling it.

Barrier 14 won’t be an issue over this distance and there is plenty of upside with the daughter of Shamus Award.

Race 6. (15:01) Centaurea Stakes (2014m)

#4 – Shop Til I Drop @ $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The McEvoy-trained five-year-old mare owns four wins and three placings from 10 starts, so she has every chance to win here.

She has yet to finish worse than third from five starts at Morphetville and there was plenty to like about her second placing behind Fabric at Morphettville.

55.5kg on her back is ideal and we’re confident of a big effort.

Race 7. (15:41) R A Lee Stakes (1600m)

#6 – Vassilator @ $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Colin Little-trained five-year-old got back to his best form at Flemington and we’re expecting him to follow that up with another.

He hit the line strongly to beat Holbien, which has subsequently won a race in Melbourne last Saturday.

He gets in with only 55kg on his back and having Damien Oliver in the saddle is ideal.

Race 9. (17:05) Carbine Club BM64 (1200m)

#13 – Koruto @ $8 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Koruto comes off two wins from his last three starts and there is little wrong with that form.

The Phillip Stokes-trained three-year-old comes off a win at Balaklava and that form should stack up nicely in this company.

$8 is a value price and he should get every chance to win from barrier three with Jye McNeil in the saddle.
