Morphettville horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:06) AAMI Queen Adelaide Stakes (1050m)
#1 – Theresabearinthere – Bet Now
Drawing barrier 14 isn’t ideal for Theresabearinthere, but that debut win was mightily impressive.
The Jolly-trained gelding won by 3.8 lengths after leading throughout and he was never out of first gear. It was a tidy debut effort and he looks a professional type in the making.
He could be in for a big career and we wouldn’t back agaisnt him, despite facing a very tough field.
Race 2. (12:41) Celebration of Adl Hills BM64 (1200m)
#6 – Harpuna – Bet Now
Harpuna is another debut winner that could kick on with it. The debut win at Ararat was a professional display when scoring by 2.5 lengths.
The three-year-old needs to work from an outside barrier but there was plenty to like on debut and he could prove tough to beat again.
Watch the betting markets with interest.
Race 3. (13:16) Terry Howe Printing BM82 (1600m)
#1 – Easy Beast – Bet Now
Easy Beast is coming off a gritty third placing at Morphettville and the former Victorian has the ability to win this race.
The five-year-old owns six wins and 12 placings from 34 starts, so he has the experience to win as well.
His best efforts have come on this track, including two wins and five placings. It bodes well for a good run once again.
Race 4. (13:56) Dominant Port Adelaide Cup (2500m)
#3 – Oceanex @ $2.65 – Bet Now
Oceanex is getting fitter and she’s coming off a handy fifth at Randwick. The four-year-old is a winner of four from 16 starts, and those have come in tough grades.
The daughter of Ocean Park should find this field there for the taking and stepping up to 2500m shouldn’t do her any harm.
Keep an eye on the markets and watch for any positive betting moves.
Race 5. (14:36) Furphy Queen of the South Stakes (1600m)
#1 – Seabrook @ $4.40 – Bet Now
Seabrook is another runner that is getting close to a win after back-to-back placings. The four-year-old ran second at Caulfield last start behind Bam’s on Fire.
That’s group-quality form and although she’s having her first start on this track, getting the inside draw is ideal.
Punters are getting each-way odds and they should be snapped up.
Race 6. (15:16) Tab Euclase Stakes (1200m)
#1 – Garner @ $2.70 – Bet Now
It’s not usual for a runner to prefer wider draws, but Garner is one of those runners. He needs a drag into the race and being on the inside doesn’t help. He showed what he can do with an outside draw when winning by 2.3 lengths last start.
It’s cracking form for this race and the four-time winner looks well-placed to score again. Barrier 12 is ideal and we’re confident of his chances again.
Race 9. (17:15) D C McKay Stakes (1100m)
#5 – Behemoth @ $4.60 – Bet Now
Behemoth is a beast of a horse and he often finds form quickly. The four-year-old gelding owns three wins and four second placings, with many of those coming against hot fields.
David Jolly lines up the gelding that has won over $700,000 and he looked good in a recent trial to prepare for this race.
