Morphettville horse racing tips
Race 1. (11:55) Holdfast Insurance BM64 (1250m)
#1 – Johnny Boss @ $2.65 – Bet Now
The Maher/Eustace stables lines up the colt, which scored a good win on debut. It came at Pakenham when he stormed home late, so he has potential.
He’s a son of Deep Field that only has improvement to come and there has been good betting support throughout the week.
Race 2. (12:31) Winning Edge Presentations BM72 (1400m)
#8 – Elusive Nature @ $4.60 – Bet Now
Elusive Nature has been disappointing since arriving in Adelaide from Sydney, but it’s about time she showed her true potential.
The Will Clarken-trained mare looked good at times in Sydney, which included three wins from 18 starts.
She’s due a winning turn and punters are getting each-way odds.
Race 3. (13:06) M&J Chickens BM68 (1950m)
#9 – Exalted Ambition @ $5.50 – Bet Now
Coming off an impressive win is Exalted Ambition, which enjoyed the slight drop back in distance last time out.
The three-year-old gelding stormed home from the back of the field and he’s going to get a chance to do that again.
The light weight helps and $5.50 is a good quote.
Race 4. (13:46) Adelaide Galvanising BM68 (1000m)
#3 – Dimaggio @ $4.40 – Bet Now
The three-year-old was too good for them last start and he looks a nice type in the making. He is in good hands with Team McEvoy and there is good betting support.
$4.40 for a talented son of Deep Field is a good price and he only needs some luck from an awkward draw.
Race 5. (14:21) Tab BM68 (1300m)
#6 – Dixon Street @ $2.60 – Bet Now
Dixon Street continues to win after posting victories at Gawler and Morphettville. The McEvoy-trained filly won by a nose last start after settling on the pace.
The filly by Spirit of Boom has yet to finish worse than third from six starts, so that consistency could be rewarded once again.
The apprentice claim helps.
Race 6. (15:01) AAMI BM64 (1550m)
#5 – Office Jim @ $4.60 – Bet Now
Office Jim is a model of consistency with a win and six placings from eight starts. The three-year-old ran third at Cranbourne last start and that form looks good at this level.
Anthony Freedman lines up the son of Magnus that has a good winning chance in an open field. He’s one of three joint favourites and he could be the value runner.
Watch for any late betting moves.
Race 7. (15:41) Adelaide Appeals Handicap (1000m)
#1 – Terbium @ $4.60 – Bet Now
We’re giving Terbium one more chance after doing enough when sixth last start. The Phillip Stokes-trained gelding won his first four starts and looked like a superstar, but his form has tapered off.
He’s still a four-time winner but he’s dropping in grade and punters are getting good odds for him to win.
Terbium gets one more chance with us.
Race 8. (16:21) Furphy R58 Handicap (1250m)
#12 – Lace and Whiskey @ $3.70 – Bet Now
Will Clarken lines up the three-year-old filly that made good ground when sixth last start. The daughter of Akeed Mofeed is a two-time winner that has more upside than most in this field.
She’s a past winner on this track and she has the breeding to kick on with it. We’re expecting a good performance and punters have caught on.
Race 9. (17:00) South Beef BM58 (1000m)
#13 – Almadrava @ $3.90 – Bet Now
Almadrava is a Stokes-trained filly that won at Gawler two back before running consistently at Morphettville last time out.
The daughter of Sebring runs well at this distance and with Kayla Crowther in the saddle, she’s going to get every chance.
$3.90 is a good price and we’re expecting that to shorten.
