Morphettville horse racing tips
Race 1. (13:42) Furphy Maiden (1000m)
#4 – Salton Sea @ $2.20 – Bet Now
Will Clarken lines up the trials performer which scored nicely by 2.3 lengths on this track.
The three-year-old son of Fighting Sun scored the win over a nice type in Li’l Hank and that form looks to have stacked up nicely.
Most of the early money has come his way so it pays to respect that.
Race 2. (14:17) Winning Edge Presentation BM64 (1250m)
#2 – Kayseri @ $4.80 – Bet Now
Kayseri didn’t show much on debut but did score nicely last start. He scored by a length after getting well back in the run.
His turn-of-foot was impressive and if he’s able to recreate that speed, he’ll go close to winning this race.
Harder task, but punters are getting good odds and senior rider Paul Gatt is in the saddle.
Race 3. (14:42) AAMI Handicap (1250m)
#2 – Enough Swagger @ $2 – Bet Now
The four-year-old mare doesn’t know how to run a bad race and she has already won twice this preparation.
She’s a three-time winner which made up a stack of ground behind Jentico last start and that’s better form than most of her opposition has.
Bookmakers opened her as the firm favourite and that’s not surprising. She is the best horse in the race and just needs things to go her way.
Race 4. (15:32) TAB BM80 (1400m)
#3 – Debt Collector @ $2.35 – Bet Now
Debt Collector might just have too much class for this field. The son of Time Thief was good enough to run second at Flemington in June and that form holds up well here.
His form since has included two placings and he broke through for an overdue win at Morphettville last time out.
Gets some weight off his back and we’re expecting a nice effort here.
Race 5. (16:12) Fleurieu Milk Company BM80 (2250m)
#1 – Royal Rumble @ $7 – Bet Now
It has been a long time between drinks for this seven-year-old, but don’t give up hope just yet.
The son of New Approach is slightly out of form but he showed good pace fresh up when second and something close to that is ideal.
Could go under the radar come race day and offer punters with some good value.
Race 6. (16:52) Terry Howe Printing Handicap (1000m)
#4 – Miss Labelle @ $3.40 – Bet Now
Miss Labelle has won two of her last three starts and she could continue in that vein of form here.
The daughter of Dream Ahead sat on the pace last start and kicked away in the straight. That is a good asset to have around this track and the small field suits.
Gets in with a light weight with Gary Lo in the saddle and she could attract some good attention in the betting come race day.
Every chance of winning again.
Race 7. (17:32) Twilight @ Morphettville BM66 (1400m)
#5 – Raging Queen @ $2.70 – Bet Now
Raging Queen turned her form around nicely when scoring on this track last start and she could kick on with it now.
She’s an experienced customer on this track with four starts for one win and two placings. Having that experience is key and she scopes nicely for this run.
Has already been well-backed to score and this isn’t the strongest field she’ll ever tackle.
Race 8. (18:10) John Haigh’s 90th BM70 (1550m)
#2 – Fly For Yulong @ $2.60 – Bet Now
That was a nice run for third at Flemington last start and that metropolitan form looks good for this.
Trained by Lindsay Park, Fly For Yulong ran only 1.7 lengths behind Bumper Blast and we’re expecting that form to hold up very well at this level.
Most of the early money has come for the five-year-old and he could score his first win since 2017 after being imported from the UK.
