Morphettville horse racing tips

Race 1. (13:01) Accolade Wines BM76 (2023m)

#5 – All Hard Wood – Bet @ Sportsbet

The seven-year-old scored an easy three-length win at Penola last start, and he’s capable of kicking on with it.

He is a son of All Too Hard, who has scored six wins and eight placings from 39 starts. That is a solid record and carrying 55kg is ideal.

Punters should get each-way odds on race day.

Race 2. (13:36) Fleurieu Milk Company Maiden (1200m)

#8 – Jaazeb – Bet @ Sportsbet

Looking to cap off three consecutive placings is Jaazeb, who was only 1.5 lengths behind subsequent winner Philonize last time out.

The three-year-old gelding looks to have plenty of speed, and he should find this level of racing more to his liking.

Punters should expect long odds.

Race 3. (14:11) Canadian Club Rebel Raider BM75 (1200m)

#1 – Karacasu @ $2.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Karacasu is a model of consistency after scoring two wins and three second placings from five starts.

The impressive son of Headwater scored an easy win at Morphettville last time out, and he has yet to run worse than second on this track.

$2.70 is a fair price from bookmakers.

Race 4. (14:46) White Claw BM86 (1200m)

#2 – Extra Time @ $3.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Extra Time has already won twice this season and we’re confident he can add a third win.

The four-year-old son of Shooting to Win owns three wins at Morphettville and at the distance, so the statistics read well.

Barrier four is ideal and the $3.30 is worth taking.

Race 5. (15:21) Allegion BM68 (1200m)

#2 – Brownie @ $2.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Brownie is seeking three consecutive wins after scoring at Mildura and Kilmore.

The Maher/Eustace-trained four-year-old scored impressively by 2.3 lengths last start, which could be a sign of things to come.

We’re happy to take the $2.45 available, as her odds could firm on race day.

Race 6. (16:00) Melbourne Cup Day BM60 (1200m)

#4 – Lake’s Folly – Bet @ Sportsbet

Lake’s Folly looked good when scoring by a length at Morphettville three back and he could get back to his best form.

The five-year-old gelding hasn’t been too far away, and he owns three wins over this distance, so he gets things to suit.

Punters should get each-way odds on race day.

Race 7. (16:42) South Adelaide Panthers BM60 (1100m)

#1 – Crowned Monarch – Bet @ Sportsbet

Crowned Monarch scored back-to-back wins at Moe and Mornington last season, which should stack up nicely in this company.

The five-year-old mare then ran fourth at Caulfield behind Diamonds in the Sky, which is excellent form for this level of racing.

He recent trial win on this track is ideal form coming into this race.

Race 8. (17:26) Access Hardware BM72 Handicap (1050m)

#1 – Meteorite – Bet @ Sportsbet

The son of Deep Field is a slick customer when he’s on his game, and this isn’t an overly strong field.

He is a four-time winner from 15 starts, and getting the 3kg claimer in the saddle should bring him into contention.

Betting will be interesting, but he should attract some supporters.

Race 9. (18:05) Grand Syndicates BM60 (1600m)

#2 – Apache Star – Bet @ Sportsbet

Apache Star will need luck from out wide, but the four-year-old gelding owns plenty of natural ability.

The son of Star Witness scored consecutive wins earlier this preparation before running third at Morphettvile last time out.

2kg comes off his back and a touch of luck will be enough.
