Morphettville horse racing tips

Race 1. (13:01) Welso Security Handicap (1200m)

#2 – Garner – Bet @ Sportsbet

Garner is the clear class runner of this field and we are expecting a big run. The four-year-old pulled up lame last start, so punters should forgive that effort.

His form includes four wins and six placings from only 12 starts, and many of those have come against top opposition in Melbourne.

He should finish over the top of this small field.

Race 2. (13:36) AAMI Maiden (1200m)

#13 – Star of Uma – Bet @ Sportsbet

Star of Uma looked good running second on debut at Morphettville and although poor last start, she had no luck.

Punters should look at her debut run where she finished second behind Grandslam, which has subsequently placed at Group 1 level.

Carrying 54kg is ideal and she is drawn to get all favours.

Race 3. (14:11) Soul Growers BM82 (2028m)

#4 – Darlamax – Bet @ Sportsbet

Darlamax is looking for three consecutive wins after scoring at Morphettville and Morphettville Parks.

The five-year-old looks well-placed at this track and his last-start win came impressively by 2.8 lengths, so he has plenty to offer.

Expect another good run at each-way odds.

Race 4. (14:46) Raider Series Final BM75 (1200m)

#3 – Celestine – Bet @ Sportsbet

It is a tough field on Saturday but Celestine is the unbeaten runner and she looks like a nice type in the making.

The McEvoy-trained three-year-old is coming off a 1.5-length win at Flemington and form out of Melbourne stacks up nicely.

She owns experience winning at Morphettville and her unbeaten streak could continue.

Race 5. (15:21) Happy 50th Birthday Brad Smart BM68 (1200m)

#1 – The Difference – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Difference continues to run well this season, which includes four starts for two wins and two second placings.

He has finished in the first two in six of his seven starts, so there is plenty to like about his form and he should go close on Saturday.

2kg comes off his back and although drawn wide, he goes close with luck.

Race 6. (16:00) Schweppes BM58 (1600m)

#13 – Antipas – Bet @ Sportsbet

Antipas is fresh up following a successful run at Clare and although off the scene since March, his recent trial looked solid.

The six-year-old will be better over more ground later this season, but he owns two wins over the mile and he could surprise punters at big odds.

Race 7. (16:41) Barossa Fine Foods BM72 (1100m)

#7 – Atomic Lokade – Bet @ Sportsbet

Atomic Lokade is an eight-year-old mare that is coming off a successful outing at Murray Bridge.

She scored by 1.3 lengths and although she’s not getting any younger, her experience should hold her in good stead.

Drawing the inside barrier will help her situation and Kayla Crowther has been riding in good form.

Race 8. (17:26) Furphy BM58 (1100m)

#7 – Deevine – Bet @ Sportsbet

Deevine is coming off a tidy effort for second at Morphettville and he is capable of improving that form on Saturday.

The four-year-old is only a one-time winner but he has been around the mark throughout his career, so punters could get value.

Drawing the inside barrier is ideal and it should be finishing off strongly down the outside.

Race 9. (18:02) Tab Mares BM72 (1200m)

#12 – Oh Please Dianna – Bet @ Sportsbet

Team McEvoy lines up the four-year-old that owns a win and two placings from six starts.

She is a daughter of Deep Field that is coming off a fourth at Mornington and Victorian form bodes well for this race.

Drawing barrier two is ideal and she has upside.
