Morphettville horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:51) Holdfast Insurance BM76 (1400m)

#4 โ€“ Aqueduct @ $1.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Aqueduct is a former Kiwi that has hit the ground running since arriving in Australia. He has won both starts and the latest came by more than three lengths.

The well-bred son of Dundeel is now a three-time winner from nine starts and with the 2kg claim, there is plenty to like about his chances on Saturday.

Race 2. (13:26) AAMI Maiden Plate (1000m)

#5 โ€“ Amuri @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Amuri is on debut for Team McEvoy after running 11th in a tough field at Flemington last month.

The three-year-old filly by Zoustar should have improved with the run and itโ€™s good to see money coming for her throughout the week.

Getting the inside draw is ideal so put her on top.

Race 3. (14:01) Tab Create Your Calendar BM72 (1950m)

#4 โ€“ Allusion @ $3.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Allusion was a winner fresh up at Morphettville and although beaten last start, he has upside in this contest.

The five-year-old gelding owns two wins from three starts at this track, and that record canโ€™t be overlooked.

He will need luck from the draw but punters should get a good sight.

Race 4. (14:36) Furphy BM58 (1000m)

#4 โ€“ Alleboom @ $3.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Alleboom has yet to finish worse than third from three career starts, which is a solid record to date.

The Jolly-trained three-year-old won on debut before finishing second at Morphettville and third at Balaklava.

Drawing barrier two is ideal and punters are getting odds worth snapping up.

Race 5. (15:16) Chalk Hill BM72 (1000m)

#2 โ€“ Taken Off @ $3.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Taken Off is a winner of three from five starts and he could add another win to his record on Saturday.

Trained by Phillip Stokes, the son of Toorak Toff scored by a nose last time out to keep his unbeaten run at Morphettville intact.

His odds are drifting but punters are now getting a better price.

Race 6. (15:56) Mitch Is Getting Hitched BM58 (1300m)

#12 โ€“ Vancity Gem @ $2.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The three-year-old filly couldnโ€™t have been more impressive when scoring by two lengths on debut.

She set them a merry chase and they couldnโ€™t catch her, so expect jockey Barend Vorster to push forward on the filly once again.

She has the speed to cross from barrier 13, so it shouldnโ€™t be an issue.

Race 7. (16:36) Terry Howe Printing BM82 (1250m)

#5 โ€“ Seemingly Discreet @ $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Seemingly Discreet is a professional winner of five from 10 starts and she cruised home for a three-length win last start.

The four-year-old mare put pay to a small field at Morphettville and she remained unbeaten at this track from three starts.

$3 is a fair price from bookmakers and those odds should firm throughout the week.

Race 8. (17:16) Spring Racing BM68 (1550m)

#2 โ€“ Sasun @ $12 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Sasun is fresh up after a terrific campaign last season where he won three of his last five starts.

The experienced eight-year-old is an eight-time winner and he won a trial over 1200m to prepare for this race.

His fresh record is solid and punters are getting each-way value on Saturday.

Race 9. (17:56) Happy 50th Patto BM68 (1250m)

#10 โ€“ Trip @ $3.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Trip got out to a big lead at Balaklava last start before scoring easily by five lengths. The four-year-old mare loves to push forward and try run the field into the ground.

Punters should expect similar tactics here and although she gets a jockey change, Todd Pannell should try a similar strategy.

She is staying firm in the betting and that is expected.
