Morphettville horse racing tips

Race 1. (13:02) Furphy BM68 (1100m)

#5 – Philonize @ $2.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

We were impressed with the win from Philonize last start, who put the field away by 1.5 lengths at Morphettville Parks.

The three-year-old filly was the $1.90 favourite to score and she did it with ease, so there is no reason to jump off her back at the better odds.

3kg comes off her back, so that helps.

Race 2. (13:37) White Claw BM76 (2500m)

#3 – Slipintothis @ $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Patrick Payne-trained five-year-old comes off a second placing behind Hasta La War, which should be a good betting guide.

He is a four-time winner from 14 starts, and although yet to race at this track, it should suit him nicely.

Most of the early money has come his way, which isn’t surprising.

Race 3. (14:12) Spring Carnival at Morp BM68 (1200m)

#3 – The Billionaire @ $2.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The four-year-old son of Written Tycoon is a model of consistency with two wins and three placings from seven attempts.

He comes off a second placing at Mornington behind Starry Legend, which should be an excellent form guide.

The inside draw is ideal over this distance.

Race 4. (14:47) Hill Smith Stakes (1800m)

#7 – Blackcomb @ $1.95 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Blackcomb has yet to win a race, but after consecutive second placings, she looks ready to score.

The daughter of Vancouver finished second behind Barb Raider at Flemington, which followed a placing behind a subsequent winner at Sandown.

Staying at 1800m is ideal, so we’re not surprised by the odds.

Race 5. (15:22) The Junction BM68 (1050m)

#13 – Hello Ladies @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Hello Ladies scored easily last time out when winning by four lengths, so that form stacks up nicely.

The four-year-old gelding makes a rise in class for this race, but he looks to have solid potential at this level.

The inside draw with a light weight helps his chances.

Race 6. (16:02) Adelaide Galvanising BM68 (1600m)

#9 – Wild Imagination @ $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Wild Imagination scored by just under a length at Morphettville last start and she’s capable of going back-to-back.

The mare by Makfi has made a positive start to her career with two wins and three placings, so she should be tough to beat again.

Carrying 55kg is ideal and most of the early money has come her way.

Race 7. (16:42) Canadian Club BM82 (1100m)

#1 – Alleboom @ $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Punters get value odds with Alleboom, who is gunning for three on the bounce. He is a speedy type on his day, and with six wins from 14 starts, punters always get a good sight.

Two of those wins have come on this track, so he only needs to jump well from an outside barrier to be in contention.

2kg comes off his back to help.

Race 8. (17:22) John Macca BM72 (1200m)

#4 – Pimm’s Party @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Pimm’s Party is a four-year-old mare who has scored three wins from nine starts. She was too good for them two back at Morphettville, and she went close last start.

Barrier 12 could produce some issues over this distance, but with three wins on this track, she should handle the pressure.

Punters get each-way odds.

Race 9. (18:00) Grand Syndicates BM60 (1200m)

#11 – Hanabi @ $3.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Hanabi has yet to finish worse than second in all four starts this preparation, so she’s in form.

The three-year-old filly won two starts back over Philonize, who has since won and could win again in Race 1.

She couldn’t run down the impressive Karacasu last start, but it’s solid form.
