Morphettville horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:41) Magic Millions 2YO Sale BM64 (1100m)
#6 – Smokin’ Val @ $2.70 – Bet Now
Smokin’ Val was far too good for that opposition on debut and although rising in class, she looks like a nice type in the making.
The Jon O’Connor-trained filly scored by four lengths at Murray Bridge and although the field was weak, she powered away for the victory.
Money is coming for her and that’s a good sign.
Race 2. (13:16) Plympton Crash Repairs Maiden (1200m)
#7 – Jonquest @ $3.70 – Bet Now
Jonquest is looking to go one better than his debut run, where he finished second at Morphettville.
The MacDonald/Gluyas-trained gelding was two lengths behind the winner, but that came behind Shojiki, which is a talented type in the making.
Drawing barrier six is ideal and punters are getting value odds.
Race 3. (13:51) Tab Supports Jockey Trust BM76 (2500m)
#4 – Tatalina @ $2.10 – Bet Now
Tatalina is finding it tough to win but she deserves to be the short favourite for this race on Saturday.
The McEvoy-trained mare is a four-time winner from 15 starts and she hasn’t been far away this year. Her run for second last start was good, missing by only a nose.
Her opening odds of $2.30 were quickly taken and she could score an overdue win.
Race 4. (14:30) Storm Water Solutions BM58 (1050m)
#2 – Dawn Salute @ $3.60 – Bet Now
Dawn Salute did the job nicely at Morphettville last start and he is worth sticking with. The one-length win holds him in good stead and racing closer to the pace was the key.
David Jolly lines up the son of Hussonet and despite the big carded weight, he gets weight off his back with the apprentice claim.
Bookmakers are offering each-way odds, so put on top.
Race 5. (15:06) Stockmol Molasses BM58 (1800m)
#1 – Sebonna @ $5.50 – Bet Now
Value is with Sebonna, which owns two wins from eight starts and he should find this race easier than recent assignments.
The Peter Hardacre-trained gelding ran eighth behind Tubby Two Tracks, but that came in BM68 grades, so dropping a full level is ideal.
He only needs a touch of luck from the wide barrier to figure in the finish.
Race 6. (15:46) PDF Food Services BM58 (1200m)
#11 – Incas @ $5.50 – Bet Now
Incas looks to have a bright future and although beaten at Ballarat last start, there was plenty to like about the effort.
The Maher/Eustace-trained mare was a winner two back at Ballarat, and we’re expecting form out of that race to stack up nicely.
Drawing barrier two suits and she should be the testing material.
Race 7. (16:26) Sublime Coffee On Bray BM68 (1600m)
#3 – Scorpius @ $4.20 – Bet Now
Scorpius is coming off a second placing behind Aqueduct, and although beaten by 3.3 lengths, it was a solid effort.
The four-year-old gelding looked to have good potential early on, which consisted of two wins from 12 starts, but his form has dipped.
However, this field isn’t overly deep and he could score an overdue win.
Race 8. (17:05) Seymour Bloodstock Handicap (1200m)
#12 – Alsvior @ $5.50 – Bet Now
Value is with Alsvior, which scored back-to-back wins earlier this preparation before running second last time out.
The five-year-old wasn’t beaten far behind Kayseri last start, and that form should stack up nicely at this level.
Getting into this race with only 54kg is ideal and punters should love the odds on offer.
Race 9. (17:40) Saja Supporting NJT BM72 (1100m)
#14 – Instant Celebrity @ $2.40 – Bet Now
Instant Celebrity is a runner that could rise through the grades based on her two wins to date.
The Phillip Stokes-trained filly won by two lengths on debut before winning impressively at Morphettville Parks last time out.
She has been primed with a trial placing and her turn-of-foot could be too much for this field.
