Morphettville horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:41) Eco Skip Hire BM72 (1600m)

#1 – Allusion – Bet Now

The McEvoy-trained gelding is a three-time winner from eight starts, and he could add another win to his record.

He was too good for his opposition at Morphettville Parks last start, scoring by just under a length over Exalted Traveller.

Facing a small field of only six runners should help his cause, so put him on top.

Race 2. (13:16) Tab Maiden Plate (1200m)

#2 – Jonquest – Bet Now

Jonquest is a three-year-old gelding that has looked good running second in both career starts.

The son of Rebel Raider ran second behind Frankie Pinot last Saturday, and that should be a good form guide for the rest of the season.

Drawing barrier three is ideal and we are expecting a top effort.

Race 3. (13:51) Furphy BM64 (1600m)

#1 – Cannot Be Serios – Bet Now

The Michael Hickmott-trained gelding wasn’t far behind a similar field last start and he could improve enough to win.

He was a quality winner on this track two starts back and a repeat of that effort would take him close.

Jessica Eaten takes weight off his back and punters should get value odds.

Race 4. (14:30) Adelaide Galvanising BM58 (1050m)

#11 – La Vita – Bet Now

The five-year-old mare is fresh up after showing some ability when last in work. She is a past winner on this track and that win came at this distance.

It’s not a strong field and although she has been struggling to win in 2020, that could all change on Saturday.

Punters should get each-way odds to enjoy.

Race 5. (15:06) AAMI BM60 (1200m)

#8 – Buona Sera – Bet Now

Lindsay Park lines up the three-year-old filly that scored a one-length win on debut at Geelong.

She then finished second at Sandown behind Dirty Thoughts and although she was beaten into fifth last time out, it was a strong field.

Jumping from barrier three is ideal and she should be competitive.

Race 6. (15:46) Spring Carnival At Morphettville BM68 (1100m)

#3 – Ruler By Choice – Bet Now

The four-year-old mare has been in good form this season, which includes a win and two placings.

She scored the win at Murray Bridge two starts back when beating the talented Nasifa. She followed that up with a second placing on this track.

Drawing barrier 10 won’t make it easy over this distance, but she should be included in selections.

Race 7. (16:26) Zilzie BM68 (2000m)

#2 – Tibetan – Bet Now

Tibetan is a former Kiwi runner that made an instant impression in Australia when scoring at Gawler.

The son of Shocking scored narrowly in the heavy conditions and he placed behind some smart types across the Tasman.

He shouldn’t have any problems finding a good spot in running from barrier one, so he could go back-to-back.

Race 8. (17:05) W H Wylie Quality (1100m)

#5 – Garner – Bet Now

Garner is the quality runner of this field and he should have finished closer fresh up at Caulfield.

The four-year-old gelding had very little luck behind Diamond Effort, and his class should make him the testing material in this race.

We are expecting bookmakers to offer short odds for Garner.

Race 9. (17:40) Pike & Joyce BM72 (1100m)

#2 – Magna Bella – Bet Now

Magna Bella goes best fresh up with three starts for a win and two placings. The five-year-old mare owns four wins and five placings from 15 starts, so she has made a good start to her career.

The daughter of Magnus didn’t fire last start before the break, but that came behind Humma Humma, and this is a much easier race.

With luck, she should go close at each-way odds.
