Morphettville horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:41) Spring Carnival At Morphettville BM68 (1400m)
#2 – Aqueduct – Bet Now
The former Kiwi made a good impression when winning at Murray Bridge first-up in Australia and he could go on with it.
He is a son of Dundeel that won by 6.3 lengths and he showed his form from New Zealand, which stacks up nicely at this level.
Expect him to head forward and this level of racing will be a good test for Aqueduct.
Race 2. (13:16) Sydney R McDonald Memorial BM78 (1000m)
#5 – Seemingly Discreet @ $2.80 – Bet Now
Seemingly Discreet is a professional four-year-old mare that owns four wins and three placings to date.
She was good enough to win four consecutive races last preparation and she is unbeaten from two starts at Morphettville.
Winning over this distance fresh up isn’t easy but she has more upside than most in this race.
Race 3. (13:51) Terry Howe Printing BM64 (1000m)
#5 – Pimm’s Party @ $2.30 – Bet Now
Pimm’s Party made a big impression on debut when scoring by three lengths and she could remain perfect this Saturday.
The daughter of Street Boss sat on the speed and kicked away for an easy victory, so expect plenty of barrier speed once again.
The early support has come her way and she could start as the odds-on favourite.
Race 4. (14:26) Schweppes Maiden Plate (1000m)
#3 – Kishstar – Bet Now
Consistency is with Kishstar, which owns four placings from five starts. The four-year-old mare ran third on this track last start, which came in November.
She has been primed for this run with two trials, including a win at Balaklava and a placing at Morphettville. That form stacks up nicely and she has the experience edge over many of these.
Expect each-way odds from bookmakers in an open field.
Race 5. (15:01) Tab BM58 (1250m)
#9 – Shojiki – Bet Now
Shojiki was too slick for her opposition on debut and she is bred to win plenty of races. The daughter of Redoute’s Choice won by two lengths and it was an impressive display.
She rises in weights for this race but punters have to be confident based on what she has shown so far.
Another win could be on the cards and it could pay to watch for any betting moves.
Race 6. (15:41) AAMI BM64 (1000m)
#2 – Wedgetail – Bet Now
Team McEvoy lines up the talented four-year-old that has been in the money in seven of his 11 starts.
He has only one win to his name, but he has been racing against quality opposition throughout his career, including Microphone and Wilmot Pass.
He goes well fresh up and having an experienced jockey in the saddle strengthens his chances.
Race 7. (16:21) Holdfast Insurance BM76 (1950m)
#4 – Classy Joe @ $3.80 – Bet Now
Classy Joe is living up to his name this campaign with three wins from his last four starts. The Hickmott-trained gelding scored by a nose last start when he dug deep near the line.
Despite having no winning form from six starts on this track, his recent success should see him right in the finish.
Drawing barrier two is ideal and we’re not surprised at the early money coming his way.
Race 8. (17:00) Adelaide Galvanising BM78 (1550m)
#6 – Peleton @ $4.80 – Bet Now
Peleton is another former Kiwi runner that has needed two runs back from a spell. The Hickmott-trained gelding finished third on this track last start after showing good barrier speed.
He won three races in New Zealand and many of those came against high-quality opposition. He is worth following and from barrier three, he shouldn’t have problems finding the lead.
Race 9. (17:35) Furphy BM58 (1550m)
#7 – Meehni – Bet Now
Meehni scored impressively by 4.5 lengths two starts back and although beaten last start, that win warrants attention.
The McEvoy-trained four-year-old battled away for fifth at Morphettville last start and it should top her off nicely for this race.
Team McEvoy knows how to get them ready and she should be right in the thick of the action.
