Moruya racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:00) Poppa Joe Memorial Maiden (1650m)
#10 - Ziggy Rose @ $1.90

Ziggy Rose should justify the short odds with a win after posting two placings from three starts this preparation.
The four-year-old mare placed at Dubbo and Goulburn, and she was only a short margin behind the winner last start.
Something close puts this field away with ease.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Race 3. (14:10) Bodalla Pub C1 (1010m)
#1 - Cashbook @ $3.20

Money has come for last-start winner Cashbook, who scored at Scone by 1.3 lengths before spelling.
The three-year-old son of Flying Artie has been prepared with a trial at Randwick, which should see him go well on Friday.
Take the $3.20 odds before more money comes for him.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 4. (14:45) Happy 80th Jimmy Madden Maiden (1200m)
#11 - Sacred Inferno @ $3.30

Sacred Inferno hasn’t been too far away with two placings from two starts, and he isn’t too far away from posting a win.
The three-year-old son of Hellbent placed at Gundagai and Wagga, and he’ll only be better for the experience.
Barrier two is ideal, so expect another tidy effort.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 5. (15:25) AMH Mustang Handicap (1010m)
#3 - Take the Rap @ $3.80

Looking to get back to winning form is Take the Rap, who scored at Wagga before running solid enough races since.
The four-year-old by Star Turn gets all favours at the weights with 55.5kg, and he’s a five-time winner over this distance, which is tough to overlook.
We’re happy to include him at the current odds.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 6. (16:05) Terracon Legal BM66 (1650m)
#1 - Wal’s Angels @ $2.20

Wal’s Angels is knocking on the door after three consecutive placings, including placings at Goulburn and Nowra this preparation.
The five-year-old son of Harry Angel won his only start on the track, so getting back to Moruya only helps his chances.
$2.20 is getting shorter, but he’s the best horse in the race.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 7. (16:40) SCB Distributors Legend of the South (1300m)
#11 - My Last Hooray @ $7.00

My Last Hooray has been all around the mark this year without winning too often, but that could change at Moruya.
The four-year-old son of Harry Angel ran third at Canberra fresh up, which should only improve him with the added fitness.
Punters get each-way odds, so include him in picks.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 8. (17:20) Ray White Batemans Bay BM58 (1200m)
#4 - Merchant Reign @ $4.00

Merchant Reign is running well at Canberra this prep with two wins, and he’s good enough to take that winning form to Moruya.
The son of Merchant Navy owns two wins and four placings over the distance, so he loves 1200m, and that adds to our confidence levels.
He’s a loose favourite, so include him in horse racing picks.
Stake: 1 Unit
