Murray Bridge horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:16) Adelaide Galvanising C2 Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Just Zerene @ $1.65 – Bet Now

Just Zerene runs at short odds and she should be too good for this field. The McEvoy-trained daughter of Zoustar finished third behind Parlophone last start and that is good form.

She won back-to-back races prior to that and she was considered good enough to travel to New Zealand for a rich juvenile race.

She is classy at the $1.65 is justified.

Race 2. (12:51) Adrian Pederick BM68 (1200m)

#4 – Royalty @ $2.75 – Bet Now

Royalty is another McEvoy-trained runner that could go back-to-back on this track. He won by 1.3 lengths last start and he showed good speed throughout.

The son of Fastnet Rock turned around some solid form with the win and that confidence should do him plenty of good.

Drawing barrier three should see him settle forward and kick strongly again.

Race 3. (13:26) Passing of Reg Tanner BM78 (1000m)

#1 – Celtic Blast @ $6 – Bet Now

Celtic Blast went close at Morphettville last start and he isn’t far off posting another win. The six-year-old is a six-time winner from only 17 starts, so the consistency is there.

He hasn’t won since October last year but this track should suit and he has beaten fields of higher quality in the past.

Punters are getting good odds and they are worth taking.

Race 4. (14:06) Torrens Building & Civil BM64 (1400m)

#6 – Fields of Ivy @ $2.60 – Bet Now

Fields of Ivy is another McEvoy-trained runner that looked the goods on debut. The four-year-old won by 1.3 lengths at Morphettville as the odds-on favourite.

She hasn’t raced since November last year but she has been patiently handled and has waited for better racing surfaces.

She demands respect and should start as race favourite.

Race 5. (14:46) Spry Civil Construction BM68 (1200m)

#5 – Ruler by Choice @ $4.40 – Bet Now

Ruler by Choice won her first two career starts at Murray Bridge and Pakenham before taking on stiff competition in Melbourne.

The four-year-old mare by Choisir finished behind the likes of Kuramae and How Wowmantic in Melbourne, so that form bodes well.

The odds are better than expected and she should go close.

Race 6. (15:26) Marshall & Brougham BM58 (1600m)

#1 – Resurge @ $3.30 – Bet Now

Strong money is coming for Resurge, which goes best fresh up and could make a winning return to the track.

The five-year-old gelding owns a win and a placing fresh up and despite mixing his form last season, he is good enough to beat this field.

He opened at $3.70 and he has since firmed strongly into $3.30.

Race 7. (16:06) Riverscape Food & Wine Handicap (1400m)

#12 – Peloton @ $5 – Bet Now

Peloton is a former Kiwi runner that is having his first start in Australia. The four-year-old son of Charm Spirit won three races in New Zealand and ran well behind some classy types.

He likes to roll along in front and finding the lead from the inside barrier shouldn’t be a problem for the free-running type.

Carrying a light weight only helps his chances and the $5 is good value.

Race 8. (16:46) Neil Tanner Memorial BM58 (1000m)

#2 – Atomic Wizard @ $5 – Bet Now

Atomic Wizard is getting closer to full fitness this preparation after two starts. The five-year-old mare finished fourth at Morphettville last start and that should be a good form guide.

She is a three-time winner from only 12 starts and two of those wins have come over this distance. That is a good record and having a claimer in the saddle helps.

Race 9. (17:25) Magicmillions BM68 (1800m)

#3 – Exalted Ruth @ $5 – Bet Now

Exalted Ruth did well just to run second at Morphettville last time out and her win prior was just as good.

The Grant Young-trained mare is in career-best form and although she relies on luck from the back of the field, she has a good turn-of-foot.

Punters get good odds and they are worth taking.
