Murray Bridge horse racing tips

Race 1. (13:06) Beston Pure Foods Maiden (1000m)

#6 – Self Sufficient @ $8.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Jon O’Connor-trained three-year-old hasn’t been far away to date, including two placings from four starts.

He is a son of Rich Enuff that finished third at Morphettville last start and form behind Great Diviner should stack up nicely this season.

Barrier 15 isn’t ideal over this distance, but stick with him.

Race 2. (13:41) Wicks Estate Wines Handicap (1400m)

#3 – Another Award @ $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Another Award has figured in the finish in seven of her eight career starts, so we’re expecting another top effort.

The three-year-old filly owns two wins and six placings, including a second placing at Morphettville earlier this month.

Barrier three is ideal and we’re not surprised at the short odds.

Race 3. (14:16) Spry Civil Construction BM86 (1200m)

#4 – Second Slip @ $2.05 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Second Slip is shooting for four consecutive wins after saluting at Sandown last time out in Victoria.

It’s a good sign for this race and the former New Zealand runner               is now unbeaten in two Australian starts.

He owns a win at Murray Bridge and we wouldn’t be backing against him on Saturday.

Race 4. (14:56) Adelaide Event Catering BM62 (1200m)

#1 – Outlaws Revenge @ $2.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Ryan Balfour-trained gelding owns two wins from his last two starts and he demands attention here.

He is a son of Reward For Effort that scored by 1.3 lengths on this track last start and that form bodes well for this contest.

3kg comes off his back and his odds could firm to an odds-on quote on race day.

Race 5. (15:36) Total Workforce Solutions BM82 (1400m)

#2 – Sky Punch @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Sky Punch comes off a satisfactory effort for fourth at Morphettville and we expect improvement with the fitness edge.

The six-year-old son of Alamosa found the competition too tough at Flemington two back, but being back at Murray Bridge is ideal. He won his only start on the track, which was an impressive outing.

He needs luck from barrier 11 but he can’t be ruled out.

Race 6. (16:16) Magic Millions SA 2YO Classic (1200m)

#4 – Scorched Earth @ $2.25 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Scorched Earth has yet to win a race but the John Moloney-trained filly is talented at her best.

The daughter of Nicconi comes off a second placing behind Arcaded, which subsequently ran in the Blue Diamond Stakes.

She gets all favours from the barrier draw and $2.25 is a fair price from bookmakers.

Race 7. (16:56) The Ian Marwood Race BM60 (1200m)

#5 – Elope to Vegas @ $13 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Elope to Vegas owns a win and multiple placings this preparation and punters get value odds.

The five-year-old has been in the money in 11 of his 18 starts, so punters getting $13 is rather generous from bookmakers.

He comes off a second placing at Geelong and we wouldn’t overlook his chances of scoring a second career win.

Race 8. (17:31) Riverscape Food & Wine BM78 (2500m)

#4 – Tibetan @ $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Tibetan is a former Kiwi that has been knocking on the door since arriving in Australia. The four-year-old gelding finished second last start, making it three consecutive placings.

The son of Shocking enjoyed the rise in distance and getting up to 2500m shouldn’t pose any problems.

55kg on his back is ideal and punters should be expecting a top effort.

Race 9. (18:10) Racing Rewards SA 1MW (1800m)

#15 – Worsfold @ $3.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Worsfold scored a win on debut by 5.5 lengths before running only a length behind the winner at Morphettville.

The four-year-old wanted more ground last time out, so rising to 1800m looks ideal for this contest on Saturday.

Betting support has come and he should start as the favourite.
