Muswellbrook racing tips

Race 1. (12:25) Greg Cribb Memorial Handicap (900m)

#2 – Raging Force @ $1.35

Punters don’t get big odds for Raging Force, but he’s worth including in horse racing multi bets to start the day.

The Peter Snowden-trained gelding ran sixth on debut at Randwick behind the ill-fated King Kirk, and that has been a strong form guide.

He should put this field away with relative ease.

Stake: 4 Units

Race 2. (13:05) Keldan Commercial Maiden (900m)

#1 – Brummagen @ $4.60

Brummagen showed enough speed during his first preparation to warrant attention, including a third placing at Dubbo on debut.

The Brett Thompson-trained gelding comes off a tidy trial placing at Wellington, which should top him off nicely for this race.

Punters should snap up the each-way odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (13:45) Acorp Computers Hunter Stayers Cup BM74 (2300m)

#2 – Cascade Mountain @ $6.50

Cascade Mountain comes off three consecutive wins at Coonamble, Armidale, and Gunnedah, so he looks ready to go here.

The four-year-old son of Justify owns four wins and four placings from 12 starts, and we’re not sure why he’s paying $6.50 to win.

We’ll happily take the value available.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (14:25) Shorty Cribb Aberdeen Cup (1280m)

#11 – Pensativa @ $3.80

Money has come for Pensativa, who did enough at Scone fresh up to warrant attention at this level.

The three-year-old filly by Impending owns two wins from nine starts, and although yet to fire at Muswellbrook, that was largely circumstantial.

Getting the inside draw with 55kg on his back is ideal.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 5. (15:05) The Royal Hotel Maiden (1280m)

#2 – Justice Warrior @ $3.80

Justice Warrior didn’t fire at Hawkesbury last start, but his form prior was much better with placings at Port Macquarie and Gosford.

The three-year-old son of Justify owns five placings from eight starts, and we’re a bit surprised by the drifting odds.

We expect him to bounce back in fine style on Sunday.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 6. (15:45) JTS Realty C2 (1450m)

#7 – Zoomorphic @ $6.50

Gunning for three consecutive wins is Zoomorphic, who won at Mudgee and Dubbo in good fashion.

The four-year-old son of Zoustar is racing with confidence, and getting the inside draw only adds to his appeal against an even field.

We’re happy with the $6.50 odds available with bookmakers.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (16:25) Snowden Racing BM66 (1000m)

#2 – Ritzsun @ $4.00

Ritzsun is long overdue a winning run after consecutive second placings at Muswellbrook and Mudgee.

The three-year-old son of Sebring Sun will need luck from the wide draw, but he gets 2kg off his back to help with the big weight.

Given the odds, we’re happy to give him another chance.

Stake: 1.5 Units
