Ellerslie
—
Race 2. (11:02) Fleet Image 3YO (1200m)
#3 – Bonny Lass @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Bonny Lass looked good when winning two starts back at Ellerslie before running fifth behind Sword of State.
The three-year-old filly by Super Easy owns three wins from seven starts, so she has class and drawing barrier two is ideal.
Punters are getting value odds for the classy filly.
Race 3. (11:37) Network Visuals Handicap (1200m)
#1 – Babylon Berlin @ $3.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Ben Foote lines up the four-year-old mare who is a class act with six wins and seven placings from 14 starts.
The four-year-old mare by All Too Hard has yet to finish worse than third from six starts at Ellerslie and from nine starts over the distance.
The statistics are in her favour and she only needs luck from the wide draw to take out this race.
Race 6. (13:25) Mainland BM74 (1600m)
#4 – Gee Cee @ $3.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Most of the early money has come for Gee Cee, which kicked off this preparation with back-to-back wins.
The four-year-old son of Sacred Falls comes off consecutive placings at Ellerslie, so he’s handling the track without having recorded a win.
Running on a good surface is ideal and punters should be happy with the odds available.
Race 7. (14:00) AJC Avondale Guineas (2100m)
#13 – La Crique @ $2.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
La Crique could be a star in the making after winning four of her six starts, including a 4.5-length win at Trentham last time out.
The three-year-old daughter of Vadamos faces her toughest test, but she gets in with only 54.5kg and that tips the scales in her favour.
Craig Grylls is riding in good form and we’re putting her on top.

Ascot Park

Race 2. (10:45) Speight’s Handicap (1400m)
#7 – Glamour @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Glamour has scored two third placings already this campaign and it won’t take long to win another race.
The five-year-old mare comes off a third placing at Wingatui and we’re expecting that form to stack up nicely in this grade.
Her odds should firm on race day.
Race 4. (11:55) Spencer Family Maiden (1200m)
#5 – Henry Hubber @ $2.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Henry Hubber looked the goods when running second on debut on this track and that’s a good sign for his future.
The son of Rip Van Winkle has been heavily backed for this contest and we expect him to be right around the mark.
Take the odds before he firms to an odds-on quote.
Race 6. (13:08) White Robe Lodge Handicap (2200m)
#2 – Stop Making Sense @ $4.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Stop Making Sense couldn’t have been more impressive last time out and we think she can kick on with the job.
The mare by Falkirk has experience with four wins and seven placings from 34 starts, so she has plenty of miles under her belt.
Barrier four is ideal and the each-way odds appeal.
Race 8. (14:18) Baillie & Lewis Invercargill Gold Cup (2600m)
#10 – Savezar @ $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Savezar is a classy five-year-old who owns a win and a placing from two starts at this track.
The daughter of Savabeel should enjoy carrying only 54kg on her back and she gets an in-form jockey to ride.
We expect the favourite to be right around the mark.
