The five-year-old mare took her time getting to the races, but she’s a tough mare, and this stable knows how to get them ready for race day.

It’s an even field, so the $11 odds are value.

Race 4. (10:58) Ultrascan Mike O’Keefe BM65 (1200m)

#5 – Great Escape @ $3.50

Great Escape is a model of consistency after posting five consecutive placings, and she could score a deserved win.

The five-year-old mare comes off a tidy third placing at Woodville in heavy conditions, so the deep track won’t worry her too much.

Te Rapa Racing Tips

Race 1. (10:10) OTL Group Maiden (2100m)

#9 – Long Island @ $3.10

Long Island owns three placings from four starts, including last time out at Ellerslie in a strong maiden field.

The Donna Logan-trained filly gets Tom Wigram and his 4kg claim in the saddle, which should be enough to take her close at 52.5kg.

Race 2. (10:45) Mark Sanders Memorial BM75 (2400m)
