Riccarton
—
Race 2. (10:17) Christchurch Casino BM65 (2000m)
#10 – Darcee Que @ $5
Darcee Que turned her form around when running second at Gore, and that form could continue at Riccarton.
The seven-year-old daughter of Darci Brahma is only a three-time winner from 44 starts, but she could score an overdue win.
She won’t worry about barrier 15 over this distance.
Race 4. (11:22) KN Cooltainer BM65 (1400m)
#11 – Say Satono @ $4
Say Satono comes off a second placing at Ashburton, which is a tidy form guide for this level of racing.
The four-year-old mare by Satono Aladdin, and she has plenty more to give having had just five race day starts.
We’re happy with the each-way odds available.
Race 5. (11:55) Wuhan Jockey Club Trophy (1400m)
#10 – Watch Out @ $4.40
Watch Out was ridden a little upside down on Wednesday, and being on the quick back-up gives us the impression connections agree.
Getting barrier 16 could force her back, and she’s better being ridden off the pace, so she could add to her impressive record.
Carrying 54kg is ideal, and punters get value odds.
Race 8. (13:40) Avon City Ford BM75 (1200m)
#10 – Mystic Park @ $4.20
Mystic Park blew them away last Saturday with a four-length win, and a repeat could be on the cards.
The four-year-old son of Ocean Park rises in class for this race, but he looks good enough to handle it.
We expect many more wins from him, and he’s another value runner.

Tauranga
—
Race 1. (10:32) Ixom 3YO (1400m)
#1 – Rule of Law @ $4
Rule of Law comes off a win at Tauranga by a length, so that form is good for this race.
The Te Akau-raced three-year-old looks to have plenty of ability, and getting the inside draw is ideal.
Punters get $4 for the second favourite, which is much better than what we expected.
Race 3. (11:38) Tauranga Hardware & Plumbing BM75 (1200m)
#2 – Fellini @ $6
Fellini runs some of his best races fresh up, and the four-year-old could hit the ground running.
The son of Belardo owns five wins from 15 starts, so the class is there, even if he’s a touch below his very best.
Carrying 60.5kg won’t make it easy, but punters get generous odds for the risk.
Race 4. (12:10) O’Connor Warren Insurance Brokers BM65 (1200m)
#6 – Aequus @ $5
Aequus wasn’t too far behind the winner at Tauranga last time out, and having another run on the track should help.
The four-year-old mare by Iffraaj owns a win and a placing from five starts, and she has the breeding to kick on with it.
We expect her current odds to firm on race day.
Race 6. (13:21) Booth’s Logistics Handicap (1400m)
#3 – Desert Lightning @ $2.20
Desert Lightning comes off an impressive win at Pukekohe, which is the best form guide for this race.
The four-year-old son of Pride of Dubai has elite form for this level of racing, and he only needs some luck from the draw.
We’re not surprised by the odds, so include him in multis.
