Morus scored an overdue win at Ashburton last time out, and he’s the type that could kick on with it now.
It has taken him 40 starts to post two wins, but don’t let that deter you. He’s good enough to win on Saturday, and the odds are worth taking.
A minor upset could happen in the first on Guineas Day.

Sunset Boulevard owns five wins from 17 starts, and his turn-of-foot is good enough to put a dent in this field.
The five-year-old son of Eminent has yet to race at Riccarton, but he will love having the long straight to wind up, so include him in picks.
$3.60 is likely to firm considerably on race day.

Shooting for his third win this preparation is Enterprise, who won at Phar Lap last time out.
The southerners are good enough to win at this meeting, and he owns two wins and four placings from eight starts, so he’s consistent.
Logan Bates comes back to NZ to ride, which makes for good viewing.

The four-year-old mare by Savabeel has been winning impressively, and although yet to run at Pukekohe, she should love the track.

The two-year-old son of Banquo is bred for speed, and he looks ready to go after some pleasing trial performances.
He opened at $4.20 before shortening immediately, which is a good sign for a debut runner in New Zealand.

Stake: 1 Unit
Go Joanna improved nicely to finish second at Pukekohe, and having track experience is enough to take her close.
The three-year-old filly by Eminent had both starts on a wet track, so improving track conditions should only help her cause.
Dropping to 53.5kg is another positive.
Stake: 1 Unit
She won’t get a better chance to score an overdue win after posting two second placings this preparation.
The seven-year-old mare was only narrowly beaten at Rotorua in a driving finish, and she lost no admirers with that performance.
