Ended We have expert betting tips for racing in New Zealand on Saturday, which features racing from Ellerslie and New Plymouth.
Punters get good value odds for the two Kiwi meetings, and we have betting tips for the early races on the card.
Ellerslie Racing Tips
Race 1. (9:55) Rich Hill Stud 3YO (1400m)
#1 - Excite @ $2.60

Excite looked good when winning at Te Rapa last time out, and the three-year-old colt should return with a big performance.
The son of Wootton Bassett will need a touch of luck from a wide barrier, but over 1400m, he has time to find cover.
The $2.60 odds are worth including in picks.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 2. (10:32) Dunstan Horsefeeds Handicap (2200m)
#8 - Mulan Ardeche @ $6.00

Mulan Ardeche is already a two-time winner this preparation, including last time out at Cambridge Synthetic.
Winning on synthetic tracks isn’t usually ideal form for racing at Ellerslie, but we’re happy to include her in picks at the odds.
54kg on her back is enough to take her close against this field.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 3. (11:07) Yourride BM65 (2200m)
#12 - Jamaican Boy @ $6.00

We’re going with another runner coming off a synthetic run when finishing third at Cambridge.
The six-year-old is a better chance on grass, and he should get every chance to win against this quality of field on Saturday.
Joe Doyle is riding well, and he’ll look to settle on the speed.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 7. (13:24) Al Basti Equiworld Sunline Vase (1200m)
#2 - Dream Roca @ $3.00

The Aussies are always tough to beat in New Zealand, and the last time she was in NZ, she won the Karaka Million 2YO.
Her form since hasn’t been ideal, which shows the level of racing in NZ, and after failing to fire in the JJ Atkins last start, she could bounce back in fine style.
Barrier two is ideal, and she’ll be right there in the finish.
Stake: 1.5 Units
New Plymouth Racing Tips
Race 1. (10:15) United Steel Maiden (2000m)
#6 - Teleost @ $3.00

Kevin Myers lines up Teleost, who looked good when winning a trial at Foxton, which is always a good form guide.
The four-year-old son of Darci Brahma has been given time to mature, and debuting over 2000m isn’t abnormal for this stable.
He looks ready to go, so take the $3 odds.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 2. (10:50) James Hardie Maiden (1400m)
#1 - Performer @ $2.25

Looking to cap off consecutive second placings is Performer, who ran second on debut at Rotorua before adding another at New Plymouth.
The four-year-old son of Circus Maximus was only a half-length behind the winner last start, and having experience at the track is ideal.
He gets the inside draw with 3kg coming off, so take the short odds.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 3. (11:28) Winstone BM65 (990m)
#1 - Roc All Night @ $3.40

It could be a day for favourites at New Plymouth, and Roc All Night is an excellent bet at $3.40.
The Robbie Patterson-trained gelding owns a win and three placings from four starts, and he took on tough company during his first prep.
Kelly Myers rides, and punters should expect a good effort on Saturday.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 4. (12:03) Paslode BM75 (1200m)
#6 - Empirical @ $6.50

Boasting two wins from four starts is Empirical, who scored impressively at Taupo last time out.
That’s usually a good form guide for racing in the Central Districts, and it showed that he can handle racing on heavy tracks.
Dropping to 55.5kg is ideal, so include him in horse racing picks.
Stake: 1 Unit
