Cranbourne free tips & form
Race 1. (18:30) O’Brien Real Estate Maiden (1500m)
The Ellerton/Zahra stable is in hot form and they line up four-year-old mare Lady Malaha.
The daughter of Floral Pegasus has placed in three of her four runs to date and that included a second placing at Ballarat last start where she went down by a nose.
She likes to sit on the speed, so the rise in distance to 1500m looks ideal and she has placings behind some nice types throughout her career and that form should stack up well.
Crossing from barrier 11 will be her biggest test, but she has nice gate speed.
Race 2. (19:00) Cranbourne Holden Maiden Plate (1300m)
Lakeside Oval has been disappointing in three runs to date, but the talent is there and he has good form lines coming into this.
The Greg Eurell-trained three-year-old has finished fourth in all three starts to date, but he wasn’t far behind the talented Andaz on debut at Geelong and his two starts since have also come behind some talented types.
He finished 2.2 lengths behind subsequent winner Double Jeopardy before running Tezlah to within a length. Tezlah has city class and Lakeside Oval looks a nice type to finally break through.
Race 3. (19:30) Highview Accounting Handicap (1200m)
Memory Bank should have plenty of supporters here and rightfully so.
The Lindsay Park-trained filly finished third behind Tulip on debut at Moonee Valley and we all know what Tulip has subsequently done.
A filly by Smart Missile, it returned in April to score a narrow win at Seymour before being sent straight back out for a spell.
That typically means the connections think highly of her and giving her that time to mature looks ideal.
She has plenty of speed to burn and getting the inside barrier with in-form jockey Stephen Baster in the saddle is a big bonus.
Race 5. (20:30) Ladbrokes Handicap (1300m)
Knocking on the door of a win is Little Bita Spunk, which has placed at his last five starts.
The Matthew Brown-trained five-year-old is a course specialist with five runs for two wins and two placings. That bodes well here and he’s dropping in grade after a last start placing.
That came at Pakenham behind Valac and he always gives a good sight in front and those tactics are often good around Cranbourne.
This field isn’t overly hot and he could score an overdue win.
Race 6. (21:00) Browns Sawdust Handicap (1600m)
The former New Zealand runner looked good on debut at Hastings where she won by almost two lengths in May and since arriving in Australia, she has had mixed fortunes.
Her first run came at Cranbourne where she finished last of 11 runners, but a rise up in distance last start worked a treat for the four-year-old.
She ran second by a nose at Ballarat and she carried a bigger weight than the 57.5kg she carries here.
Bookmakers should be offering each way odds.
Race 7. (21:30) Procon Developments Handicap (1400m)
Just Hifalutin has won three of her six starts to date and there’s plenty to like about her moving forward.
The four-year-old by Reset scored a one-length win at Geelong last start over 1200m and the rise in distance should be no worry for her.
Trainer Enver Jusufovic has a nice option of the mare and her only defeats have come against some stakes-quality types in Zamzam, Plenty to Like and Toorak Cowboy.
That’s very strong form for this level of racing and punters should be confident in her chances.
Race 9. (22:00) Get A Bet On Handicap (1200m)
Swiss Beauty looks like a nice each way chance here following some solid form.
The Darren Weir-trained five-year-old is a past winner on this track and her run for fourth on this track two starts back was a good form indication.
The daughter of Swiss Ace has yet to run a bad race over this distance and she will get a good run in transit from barrier two.
Form around Fastnet Latina should hold up well at this level and punters should enjoy an each way price in the last.
