Nowra racing tips
—
Race 1. (12:55) Kinghorn Motors C1 (1100m)
#3 – Rose Aye @ $2.40
Rose Aye looked good winning fresh up at Nowra and she’s good enough to repeat the dose.
The three-year-old filly by Supido won by 6.5 lengths in emphatic fashion, so we thought her odds would be a fraction shorter.
Take the odds before money comes for her.
Stake: 5 Units
Race 2. (13:35) Affinity Constructions Maiden (1400m)
#7 – Brannum @ $2.05
Matthew Dale lines up Brannum, who didn’t enjoy the conditions at Goulburn on debut.
The three-year-old son of Yes Yes Yes showed a good sustained speed throughout the run, so we’re not shocked by the odds.
He’s worth including in multis on Sunday.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 3. (14:10) Carpet Court Showcase BM74 (1000m)
#2 – Gundy Guy @ $3.60
Boasting four wins from eight starts is Gundy Guy, who won well at Wagga two starts back.
The four-year-old son of Capitalist didn’t fire at Canterbury last time out, but this is a step below that level of racing.
He can be risky but we’re happy with the odds from bookmakers.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 4. (14:45) The Country Club St Georges BM58 (1400m)
#5 – Liquor Talk @ $4.00
Seeking consecutive wins is Liquor Talk, who scored a comfortable win at Orange.
The four-year-old won by 3.8 lengths in BM50 grade, and although he’s rising in class, he’s good enough to handle this field.
Getting 2kg off his back should be enough to take him close.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 5. (15:25) Astute Financial Maiden (1100m)
#8 – Happy Bellie @ $3.20
The Bjorn Baker stable is firing on all cylinders and it could strike with Happy Bellie on Sunday.
She ran fifth on debut at Wellington before improving to run third at Kembla Grange, and she has since had four trials to prepare for this race.
She looks ready to fire and the odds could shorten on race day.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 6. (16:05) Solomon Motor Group Maiden (1200m)
#2 – Rubilace @ $4.80
The four-year-old mare showed good form last preparation when placing at Moruya and Warwick, which is good enough form for this race.
She comes off a trial placing at Kembla Grange and she looks ready to fire fresh up, hence the each-way odds from bookmakers.
It’s an even betting field and she is worth backing.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 7. (16:45) Evergreen Turf Championships Qualifier C5 (1400m)
#10 – Kimberley Secrets @ $3.40
Kimberley Secrets is getting close to posting a win after posting consecutive placings at Canterbury and Randwick.
The five-year-old daughter of Wandjina owns four wins and five placings from 14 starts, and getting in with 55.5kg is ideal.
Barrier two is ideal and money has come for her.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 8. (17:25) Power FM BM58 (1200m)
#10 – Tjaka @ $3.90
Tjaka showed good speed on debut at Canberra before placing at Albury, and she’s good enough to get back to that form.
The three-year-old daughter of Highland Reel comes from the top Danny Williams stable, which could be enough to see her win.
We’re happy with the current odds, which could firm on race day.
Stake: 2 Units
