What an incredible Saturday of racing this week presents, with five Group 1 races on the card, including The Everest at Randwick.
Rain could play havoc at Randwick but there’s some great races on the undercard and Caulfield also has some great betting fields.
We have picked the best bets from across both cards, with form and odds.

Race 3. (13:40) Daily Telegraph Reginald Allen (1400m)
#3 – I’m So Sweet @ $4.60 – BET NOW
That was an impressive win from the three-year-old last start when running along the inside of runners and scoring by a narrow margin.
It didn’t look as though she could pick up the likely winner halfway down the straight but she showed some grit and that bodes well for this race.
Drawing the inside barrier on a wet track won’t help but expect jockey Brenton Avdulla to ride her back with cover and come home late.
Race 4. (14:15) The Star Mile (1600m)
#9 – Kaonic @ $4.80 – BET NOW
Kaonic is the class act of this field and although he finished fourth at Newcastle last start, he’s more ideally suited to running at Randwick.
He’s a three-time winner on this track from four starts and he’s a four-year-old which has handled the sting out of the ground on more than one occasion.
$4.80 for a classy runner is money worth taking.
Race 5. (14:50) The Kosciuszko (1200m)
#6 – Don’t Give A Damn @ $4 – BET NOW
It wasn’t long ago that connections of Don’t Give A Damn were considering running him in the Epsom Handicap at Group 1 level, so he looms as a big chance in this.
His most recent run at for sixth at Rosehill didn’t flatter his form line, but he carried 64kg on that occasion and his win prior was special.
Twice a winner on soft tracks and he’s a great bet.
Race 6. (15:30) Sydney Stakes (1200m)
#1 – Clearly Innocent @ $12 – BET NOW
We’re picking an upset in The Everest consolation with Clearly Innocent at $12.
The Kris Lees-trained runner hasn’t been at his best for some time now but he has been working well and the wet track won’t be an issue. He has won four from five starts on rain-affected ground and he represents value at the odds.
He will need some confidence but Hugh Bowman rides and he might adopt similar tactics to those used on Winx.
Race 8. (16:50) Craven Plate (2000m)
#12 – Egg Tart @ $3.30 – BET NOW
The jury is out on Egg Tart but she might simply be a wet track specialist. The Waller-trained mare finished third behind Ace High last start and that was a disappointing effort given her $2.50 odds.
She’s unbeaten from three heavy-track starts and that might be the key to her success. She gets the track to suit here and we’ll happily give her one more chance.

Race 3. (13:20) Thoroughbred Club Stakes (1200m)
#1– Sunlight @ $2.65 – BET NOW
The Magic Millions winner was back to her best last time out when winning the Quezette Stakes on this track.
She’s a six-time winner from only nine starts and a win here would see her surpass the $2 million earnings mark. That’s some effort and although there’s some things counting against her here, such as the weight and barrier, she has class on her side.
Race 4. (13:55) Cape Grim Beef Stakes (1200m)
#14 – Leather’n’lace @ $6.50 – BET NOW
We have been backing Leather’n’lace throughout the course of the season and this looks her best chance to secure the long overdue win.
The Weir-trained four-year-old finished fifth behind race-rival Winter Bride last start but meets it better off in the weights and that should make a big difference in a race like this.
55kg on the back is a blessing and she represents good each way value at the current odds.
Race 5. (14:30) Schillachi Stakes (1100m)
#2 – Voodoo Lad @ $4 – BET NOW
$4 is great money for a course specialist which has won four of his seven starts at Caulfield and placed in the other three.
His run for second behind Ball of Muscle last start was good and he will be better for that experience. He has drawn to get a great run from barrier five and we would be surprised to see him out of the money again.
$1.75 for the place is good money also.
