October 14, 2017 – Saturday Horse Racing Tips For Randwick

Punters have been waiting for this day all year and now it’s finally here.

The $10 million Everest runs this Saturday at Randwick and the supporting races are enough to make us salivate.

The Craven Plate, Sydney Stakes and Highway Anniversary will all be great races and punters should have a field day at Randwick.

Be sure to also check out our betting tips for Saturday’s races at Caulfield.

Randwick free tips & form

Race 1. (12:05) Highway Consolation (1400m)

#12  – Don’t Give a Damn @ $2.60 – BET NOW

Danny Williams lines up this quality four-year-old which would have started as the second favourite in the Highway Anniversary.

The son of Bon Hoffa won easily on debut before pushing Suncraze to within a nose at Rosehill which was a credible performance given that Suncraze is the favourite for the Anniversary.

He then scored an effortless 6.5-length win in the Highway Handicap last month as the $1.65 favourite and punters are getting a good price here considering the opposition.

Race 3. (13:15) The Daily Telegraph Reginald Allen Quality (1400m)

#7 – Workdrinks @ $4.80 – BET NOW

Regimen will be tough to beat on form, but we believe Workdrinks has much more improvement left this season.

The Brad Widdup-trained three-year-old was a nice winner at Hawkesbury on debut before running second at Canterbury behind the talented Beacon.

She was finishing off well behind Demerara last start at Rosehill and the additional distance is going to help her immensely here.

She has been looking for the mile so the 1400m should suit and she provides better value than the favourite.

She’s currently at $4.80, but we can see those odds shorten on race day.

Race 4. (13:50) Highway Anniversary (1400m)

#11 – Suncraze @ $3.40 – BET NOW

We can’t talk up the chances of Don’t Give a Damn earlier in the card and not tip Suncraze.

The four-year-old gelding defeated the aforementioned runner last start and it still has more improvement left this campaign despite being in work for a while now.

Melanie O’Gorman lines up the talented gelding which has won three of his nine starts and finished second in the other six.

He likes to get back during the run and produce a nice turn-of-foot, but he showed last start that he can settle closer to the pace and kick strongly.

Drawing barrier seven isn’t going to affect his tactics and we believe the only danger is Pumpkin Pie, but Suncraze should give punters a good sight.

Race 5. (14:25) The Star Mile (1600m)

#8 – Oklahoma Girl @ $8 – BET NOW

Oklahoma Girl is well over the odds at $8 and we rated it a $5 chance.

The Chris Waller-trained four-year-old was flying home at Rosehil when fresh last start and she has a win and a placing when second-up.

She was as consistent as they come last season when placing in The Roses and the Queensland Oaks. Those performances suggest that she wants more than the mile here, but she has been given a trial for this and that should top her off nicely.

She gets in with only 54.5kg on her back which will help her turn-of-foot and she’s one of the better each way bets of the day at Randwick.

Race 7. (15:35) Sydney Stakes (1200m)

#12– In Her Time @ $3 – BET NOW

In Her Time would have been a solid each way play in The Everest, but she looks a great chance in the consolation.

The Benjamin Smith-trained is a six-time winner from 15 starts and her win in the Premiere Stakes was full of class.

She had an unlucky run of barrier draws in some major races last campaign and she made the inside draw pay off last start. Drawing barrier nine on Saturday shouldn’t be an issue and she should slot in nicely.

We’re expecting punters to come for her so take the value price on offer.
