Randwick has a full and exciting card of races this weekend and we’ll preview our fancied picks below.
Randwick free tips & form
Race 1. (12:30) Daily Press Kirkham Plate (1000m)
Lindsay Park lines up this two-year-old colt which is on debut after winning a trial in Victoria.
The son of All Too Hard has been the subject of a significant betting move, which is typically a good sign from this stable.
His trial effort was encouraging, but there are clearly punters backing him early in the market and he might start the race as the favourite.
He opened at around $10 and has been backed into $6. His price might settle at that quote, but he provides some interest in the first race of the day.
Race 3. (13:45) Highway Handicap (1100m)
Danny Williams has a good record in the Highway Handicap series and She Knows looks a good chance again.
The three-year-old filly won by two lengths at Goulburn two starts ago before running second behind Larlabrook in the Highway Handicap last start.
She finished only a nose behind the winner on that occasion and she could turn the tables given the weight difference.
She Knows gets into this with only 53kg on her back and she only needs to cross from the wide alley to be a factor in this.
Race 4. (14:20) Tattersalls Club Cup (2400m)
Chris Waller has this five-year-old import running smoothly and he deserves to be the odds-on favourite.
The son of Aqlaam has won three of his last four starts, including consecutive wins over stablemate
Up ‘n’ Rolling.
That form should stack up nicely for this in the small field and he has already shown his ability to beat a field of three this season.
The rise in distance isn’t going to worry him and winning form is good form for this race.
Race 6. (15:30) Brian Crowley Stakes (1200m)
There is no more horse deserving of a win this campaign than Single Bullet.
The Gary Portelli-trained three-year-old finished an unlucky second behind Viridine in the Heritage Stakes before running second behind Viridine again in the Roman Consul.
The son of Not a Single Doubt has placed in three of his four starts at Randwick, which is a positive for this run and he’s due to get a good run from barrier five.
This is a hot field, but he will have plenty of support from loyal punters and we’re expecting his current odds to shorten.
Race 8. (16:50) Procare Property Services Handicap (1600m)
Zenalicious brings in top form to this race having run third behind Dixie Blossoms and Daysee Doom last start.
The Les Bridge stable is in hot form this season and this four-year-old mare has form behind the likes of Foxplay, Ravi and a host of other talented thoroughbreds this year.
Drawing barrier 11 will force her back, but she has a good finishing burst and this field doesn’t boast much opposition to stand in her way.
