Orange racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:50) Racing Photography Maiden (1000m)
#4 – Bushwalker @ $4.60
Bushwalker is getting close to posting a win after consecutive placings, and this race is there for the taking.
The four-year-old mare by Adelaide also ran third fresh up at Orange, so having experience on the track adds to her appeal.
Punters get value odds to snap up.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 2. (14:25) Win Network C1 (1400m)
#2 – Gecko Coin @ $5.00
Gecko Coin hasn’t been too far away in two runs this preparation, including a fifth at Narromine last time out.
The six-year-old son of Written Tycoon showed good speed when winning at Warrnambool to break maidens and something close to that is good form.
We’re happy with the odds available from bookmakers.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 3. (15:00) McSigns Orange BM58 (2100m)
#8 – Crusheen Lass @ $3.70
Crusheen Lass is gunning for consecutive wins after scoring at Muswellbrook by a half-length, which is a tidy form guide.
The four-year-old mare by Ace High is much better than a one-win type, so we’re happy to keep backing her with the confidence levels soaring.
Money has come for her and her odds will keep firming.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Race 4. (15:35) Coopers Brewery BM74 (1400m)
#5 – Merchant Lady @ $2.05
One of the better bets on the card is Merchant Lady, who owns two wins and three placings from seven starts.
The four-year-old mare by Merchant Navy hasn’t been at her best this preparation, but she ran third behind Art Volant last start, who has since won again.
Getting the inside draw is enough to see her get back to winning form.
Stake: 5 Units
Race 5. (16:15) Angullong Wines Maiden (1400m)
#4 – Money Wheel @ $3.50
The Bjorn Baker stable is firing and Money Wheel could continue the roll on Monday.
The four-year-old son of Dundeel has had two runs at Orange for one placing, and he has been prepared with four soft trials.
Barrier eight isn’t ideal but we’re happy to include him at the price.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 6. (16.55) Ideal Conditions BM58 (1300m)
#6 – Simply Better @ $7.50
Simply Better hasn’t been too far away following a win at Wellington, and we’re happy to include her in our picks.
The daughter of Better than Ready has yet to fire in four attempts at Orange, which is a concern, but this isn’t an overly tough field.
Getting 1.5kg off her back could be enough to see her return to form.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 7. (17:35) Diggermate Orange BM66 (1000m)
#8 – Outback Angel @ $3.30
Outback Angel turned her form around when winning at Albury last start, scoring easily by 3.3 lengths.
The four-year-old mare by Super One owns three wins and three placings from nine starts, so she’s consistent enough to win again.
Barrier three is ideal and she should lob into a perfect position.
Stake: 2 Units
