Pakenham horse racing tips

Race 1. (16:15) Racing.com Maiden Plate (1000m)

#7 – Quesadilla @ $2.70 – Bet Now

There has been good betting support for Quesadilla, which is a good sign for her debut. The daughter of Dream Ahead has shown good ability at home, and she only needs luck to go well.

Drawing barrier eight could make it tough, but it could pay to follow the market confidence with this runner.

Race 2. (16:50) Kentucky Equine Research Maiden (1000m)

#3 – Cheyenne Beach @ $3.90 – Bet Now

The wide draw of 13 isn’t ideal but Cheyenne Beach has race experience and that’s a help. He ran second on debut at Sale before going well at this track last start.

It’s not the hardest field we have ever seen, so his race experience should come into play. He only needs luck to figure in the finish.

Watch for any late betting moves.

Race 3. (17:25) Iron Jack Australia Lagers BM64 (1000m)

#11 – Zimowy @ $15 – Bet Now

Four-year-old mare Zimowy could provide punters with some value at $15. The Ken Keys-trained mare was only 1.8 lengths behind the winner at Sale last start, which is good form for this race.

Her lone career win came at Cranbourne last year, but although sparingly raced since, she could cause an upset here.

Securing the inside draw adds to her chances of winning.

Race 4. (18:00) Momentum Gaming BM64 (1000m)

#5 – Chevalier D’eon @ $7.50 – Bet Now

John McArdle lines up the four-year-old mare that is fresh up after having raced at Moonee Valley in November.

The daughter of Smart Missile owns two wins and six placings from 17 starts, so she’s consistent and capable of beating this field.

She has drawn ideally in barrier three and we’re expecting a nice effort.

Race 5. (18:30) O’Brien Pakenham BM70 (2000m)

#3 – Touch of Mink @ $2.60 – Bet Now

Touch of Mink is going for back-to-back wins, having scored impressively at Cranbourne by 1.3 lengths last start.

The Maher/Eustace-trained mare is having her first start at Pakenham, but it’s a track that should suit her running style.

Most of the early money has come her way and we’re expecting that to continue.

Race 6. (19:00) O’Connor Premium Beef Maiden (1600m)

#10 – Sestillia @ $4.60 – Bet Now

Sestillia has been putting in good runs, which includes a fourth on debut and a second placing at Stawell.

The Maher/Eustace-trained three-year-old made up good ground in the straight last start, and having another run over the mile is ideal.

She draws barrier two and that’s ideal.

Race 7. (19:30) Parklea Maiden Plate (1200m)

#6 – Majestic Missile @ $3.70 – Bet Now

Majestic Missile is looking to go one better after back-to-back second placings. The Lindsay Park-trained gelding battled on nicely at Echuca last start and it should be a good form guide.

He jumps from a tricky barrier of nine, but his maiden win isn’t far away, and it could come this Friday night.

Race 8. (20:00) APM Group BM64 (1200m)

#10 – Marcheechi @ $2.30 – Bet Now

It was an impressive win from Marcheechi on debut, and she looks good enough to kick on with it.

The Corstens-trained three-year-old won by just under a length at Kilmore. She defeated Sayumi, which looks to have good ability.

It won’t be easy from the wide barrier but she’s worth sticking with.

Race 9. (20:30) Sportsbet Elite Games BM64 (1400m)

#2 – Yulong Patrol @ $2.80 – Bet Now

Punters should expect better from Yulong Patrol after two moderate runs this campaign. The Maher/Eustace-trained gelding should appreciate the drop in class after running sixth at Cranbourne.

At his best, he was good enough to win at Morphettville in rating 70 class, so stick with him for this run. He should show improvement and the market suggests as much.
