Pakenham Synthetic racing tips

Race 1. (13:00) Bridgestone Select Maiden (1000m)

#5 – Wetumpka @ $2.25

Wetumpka is on debut for Peter Gelagotis after looking good at the jumpouts, and there has been solid money come for him.

The two-year-old colt by Alabama Express opened at $3.40 before firming to $2.25, which is a sizable move for a debutant.

If he gets a good run in transit, he should be tough to hold out.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 2. (13:30) Designer Coolrooms Maiden (1100m)

#2 – Country Blues @ $5.50

Each-way value is with Country Blues, who showed much better speed when running third at Geelong when fresh up.

The five-year-old son of Sebring had been racing in Sydney with a fifth at Canterbury, and that form should stack up nicely.

Take the drifting odds as a solid each-way bet.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (14:00) Happy 100th Birthday Arthur Walker Maiden (1400m)

#9 – Dancing Dolly @ $4.20

Dancing Dolly has been threatening to win a race after six placings from seven starts, and she’s good enough to turn her latest run around.

The Archie Alexander-trained filly by Ace High could appreciate the drop in distance, and that could sharpen her up nicely.

Barrier three adds to her appeal, so take the odds.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 4. (14:30) Bunyip Equipment Maiden (1600m)

#3 – Brother Quickie @ $4.20

Brother Quickie owns two placings from three starts this preparation, including a second placing last time out.

The three-year-old son of Shamus Award is threatening to win a race after five attempts, and punters get each-way odds to snap up.

We’re happy to include him in picks at the odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 5. (15:00) More Places BM58 (1600m)

#4 – Ryanman @ $7.00

Ryanman has been right around the mark throughout his career, including a win at Werribee two starts back.

The three-year-old son of Highland Reel wasn’t far away when second last time out, and a repeat of that is good enough to take him close.

Carrying a big weight isn’t easy, but he’s good enough to figure in the finish.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (15:30) Gippsland Premium Quarries BM58 (1600m)

#4 – More Torque @ $5.50

Another each-way runner is More Torque, who turned its form around with a win at Echuca last time out.

The four-year-old son of Grunt is a two-time winner overall, and most of his best form has come over this distance.

Drawing well helps, so take the $5.50 odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (16:00) Jockey Watch BM64 (2200m)

#1 – All So Clear @ $4.00

All So Clear owns four wins and 15 placings from 34 starts, and his recent form has been consistent enough to handle this field.

The six-year-old son of So You Think won at Ballarat three back before placing at Cranbourne and Ballarat, so the form checks out.

He’s good enough to beat the favourite at better odds.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 8. (16:30) SJM Turf & Civil BM64 (1400m)

#7 – Pop’s Pipe @ $6.00

Punters get value odds for Pop’s Pipe, who comes off three consecutive runs at Pakenham, including a win and two placings.

The three-year-old son of Vino Rosso is a $2.30 place chance despite never being out of the top three at the track, so the form checks out.

Take the value odds before money comes for him.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 9. (17:00) Sportsbet Feed BM64 (1100m)

#5 – Regal Secret @ $5.50

Regal Secret is getting close to posting another win after finishing second last start at Pakenham and having that experience is ideal.

The three-year-old filly by Nicconi owns two wins and three placings from 10 starts, and she only needs some luck from a wide barrier.

Getting $5.50 makes her worth including in picks.

Stake: 1 Unit
