Port Macquarie racing tips

Race 1. (13:45) Thank You to Our Members Maiden (1106m)
#4 – Wild Sensation @ $2.60
Wild Sensation showed good speed when placing on debut at Wyong, and although his form since has been only fair, he’s good enough to bounce back.
The four-year-old son of Shalaa has been prepared with a trial placing at Hawkesbury, and getting the inside draw is ideal.
We expect him to be right in the mix.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 2. (14:20) Get Well Soon Greg Wyndham Maiden (1106m)
#9 – Spiethtactular @ $1.70
Spiethtacular was a good thing beaten on debut when missing the jump and only going down narrowly at Ballina.
The three-year-old filly still produced an excellent run in defeat, so we’re not surprised by the short odds available from bookmakers.
She should win, so back her confidently.
Stake: 7 Units
Race 3. (14:55) McGuigan BMW C1 (1006m)
#5 – Our Emily @ $4.40
Our Emily was too good for them on debut at Port Macquarie, scoring by a length as an $8 chance.
We’re not surprised to see those odds firm for this race, and although it’s a tricky small field, she is a top winning hope.
Dropping to 54.5kg could make the difference.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 4. (15:30) Paradox Media Maiden (1509m)
#10 – Secret Keeper @ $7.00
Secret Keeper changes stables and we’re hoping it changes his fortunes, following one placing from six starts.
The four-year-old son of Xtravagant hasn’t raced for over a year, but his recent trial form includes a win at Gosford and a placing at Grafton.
He’s good enough to make a winning return against this field.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 5. (16:10) Char Bar Catering BM58 (1509m)
#2 – Otium @ $3.20
Seeking consecutive wins is Otium, who scored by a half-length at Taree with a smart turn-of-foot.
The five-year-old gelding by Time Test owns two wins and four placings from 12 starts, so there is little wrong with his form.
After opening at $5, big money has come for the second favourite.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Race 6. (16.50) John Oxley Motors BM58 (1812m)
#7 – Yorikiri @ $3.30
Yorikiri is another runner gunning for consecutive wins after motoring home to win at Port Macquarie last start.
The six-year-old gelding by Mikki Isle won by 2.5 lengths in dominant fashion, and he’s good enough to handle the rise in class.
Barrier three is ideal and he should be right there in the finish.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 7. (17:30) Tab Venue Mode BM58 (1206m)
#1 – Starry Jack @ $2.35
Starry Jack is threatening to win a race after posting three placings this campaign, and he’s worth sticking with until he wins.
The son of Outreach hasn’t been facing overly tough fields, but he’s in a BM58 race and there isn’t much depth to it.
Getting 3kg off his back could be enough to see him win.
Stake: 2.5 Units
