Proisir Plate Runner-By-Runner Guide

A nice type on his day, but his recent form hasn’t been his best, and he could find it tough to sprint with them here.

A lovely type who hit the line nicely in the Foxbridge Plate, which should be a good form guide for this race.

His record at Ellerslie isn’t flash, but he’s a different animal now, and the $10 odds are good for NZ’s Horse of the Year contender.

Include him in trifecta and first four picks.

He ran well for third last time out, and he’s a two-time winner at Ellerslie, but we don’t have him included in our Proisir Plate tips.

The $27 odds are generous, but he’s paying that price for a reason.

Extremely disappointing in the Foxbridge when being caught wide, but he dropped out of the race quickly.

Can’t recommend based on that performance.

He ended last preparation with back-to-back wins, but this is a tough race fresh up. He will warm up over 1600-2000m later this spring.

Unbeaten from two fresh up runs, and he’s good enough to cause an upset in the Proisir Plate.

We’re happy to include him in trifecta and first four bets at the odds, so take the $16 as a value bet.

The former Aussie ran well for second behind Alabama Lass last time out, and he can’t be discounted as a winning hope.

He’ll only improve with the run under his belt, and he’s another first four chance to boost payouts.

He hit the line well in the Foxbridge, but he’s not the most consistent type going around, and there are better winning hopes in this race.

Not easy from a wide barrier, and he’s a runner who should appreciate the run under his belt.

Showed his best form when winning consecutive races to end his last season. Not an easy race to win here, and he’ll need to improve to go close.

Australia didn’t work out well for him, and that has taken the shine off his record. He needs to find lengths to go close.

Her blistering barrier speed always makes her tough to beat, and her Foxbridge Plate win came easily.

1400m tests her, but she is good enough to beat the favourite, so she’s the obvious each-way bet in the Proisir Plate.

A nice enough mare on her day, but she could find trouble from a wide barrier. She’ll be forced back, and making ground could be too tough.

She always runs at overs despite owning a good record at Ellerslie. She owns three wins at the track and a win and a placing fresh up.

We think she’s going under the radar once again, and she could cause a big upset at massive odds.

The best horse in New Zealand, and she’s good enough to go to Australia and win a big race, potentially the Cox Plate if she can get the distance.

The unbeaten mare has yet to taste defeat in six starts, and she defeated Belle Cheval last start, who has since won a Group 1 in Australia.

$1.65 is a fair price considering what she paid to win last season.

A nice enough type, but we can’t see her figuring in the finish from the draw.
