Queensland Oaks Form Guide & Tips

Princess Jenni (Best Bet – $2.60) Bet Now

Princess Jenni brings the best form into this race with three consecutive wins.

The daughter of High Chaparral won the Schweppes Oaks in Adelaide last start and that’s usually a good form guide for this race.

She has a good turn-of-foot and every chance to win this race.

Aliferous (Best Each Way – $8.50) Bet Now

Nice effort for second at double-figure odds in The Roses at Doomben last time out.

Made up good ground to run second behind Etana and although she would need to turn that result around, she has the ability.

Bookmakers are offering nice odds and they’re worth taking.

Etana ($5.50) Bet Now

Good win in The Roses last time out and she has now won four from nine starts.

Made up nice ground in the straight to score and she would have been our best each way, but the $5.50 odds are just too short for our liking.

2200m could be a stretch and she’s not worth the risk.

Winning Ways ($26) Bet Now

Didn’t quite continue her winning ways when running eighth last start and Group 1 level might be out of her reach.

Has six wins from 12 starts so we’re not doubting her ability, but you’d want bigger odds.

Pinmedown ($34) Bet Now

Kiwi-trained filly which ran 12th last start and might need to find a few lengths to win this.

Looked good when winning at Ellerslie earlier this season but that form hasn’t shown up in Australia.

Rosendahl Red ($101) Bet Now

Hasn’t been able to show anything her last three runs and she’s unlikely to be fighting out the finish.

Odds tell the story.

Belle Roc ($23) Bet Now

Scored nicely against much easier opposition three back and she hasn’t been far away since.

Nice type on the rise but whether or not she can win the Oaks is another question. Looks held at this level but she could run in the top five.

Welsh Legend ($21) Bet Now

Hasn’t won for awhile now and she would need some luck after drawing barrier 20.

Comes from the Chris Waller stable, however, so she should be respected but we would need a better price than $21.

Dawson Diva ($91) Bet Now

Her last couple of efforts have not instilled any confidence and we’re not surprised she’s at long odds.

Gets a nice run from the draw but she will likely be run off her feet.

In Good Health ($101) Bet Now

Knows how to win with three wins coming at her last five starts. That’s a nice record but none of those wins came against much opposition.

Prefer to see her in something much easier.

Dunlani ($21) Bet Now

Comes into this following a win and the Matt Cumani stable knows how to train staying winners.

She could be the sleeper of this field and she’s going to get every chance off the inside draw.

Don’t overlook her chances at nice odds.

Angel Of Heaven ($8.50) Bet Now

Impressive run for second last start and we can see why she’s been well-backed.

Kris Lees lines up the three-time winner which has always had a second-tier Group 1 win in her future. That could come here and she’s going to enjoy a nice trip throughout.

We wouldn’t be surprised to see her odds firm throughout the week.

Savigne ($27) Bet Now

Nice odds for a Chris Waller-trained filly which scored a good win at Canterbury last time out.

Drawing barrier 18 hurts her chances but she might sit off the speed and come with a big run late.

Odds could be worth having a nibble at.

Lady Cuvee ($71) Bet Now

Hasn’t done much wrong this season but would need to find a few lengths to beat this field.

Odds are attractive but she will likely be struggling in the straight.

Our Intrigue (Best Roughie – $13) Bet Now

New Zealand runner which came to Australia and won well last time out at Sunshine Coast. That came against a rather weak field but she has obvious ability.

Tony Pike has been winning everything during the Brisbane Winter Carnival, including two Group 1’s, so respect his runner here.

Duchess Of Lennox ($14) Bet Now

Shorter in the betting than expected and she’s trying to win at Group 1 level during her first preparation.

That’s not easy to do but her form has been solid, including two second placings coming into this.

The $14 makes us pay attention to her chances.

On The White Turf ($19) Bet Now

Needs to put an average run behind her last start but she has shown enough this season to warrant attention.

James McDonald is a good rider to have in the saddle and she could add some value to multiples here.

Itz Lily ($31) Bet Now

Yet to put a foot wrong and she’s having her eighth run during her first season. That’s not easy to do but she could be a nice type for the future.

Prepared to risk her here.

Emergencies:

Grand Bouquet ($23)
Mrs Madrid ($46)
Re Edit ($16)
