Queensland Oaks Form Guide & Tips
(1) Molly Bloom ($5.50)
The Kiwi has hit the line nicely in two Australian runs, so we’re not leaving her out of selections.
She has more staying ability than most, having won the New Zealand Oaks, so the each-way odds are worth taking.
(3) Amazonian Lass ($26.00)
Her form this preparation has been mixed, but we didn’t like what we saw last time out.
(4) Scarlet Oak (Best Bet – $3.70)
A lovely type in the making after winning three of her last four starts.
She deserves to be the favourite, and punters shouldn’t be worried by the wide draw over this distance.
She is the one to beat, hence the odds.
(5) Moonlight Magic (Best Roughie – $15.00)
She comes off a second placing, and she’s good enough to go one better.
The New Zealander is bred to be winning over this distance, so rule her out at your peril.
(6) Mollynickers ($51.00)
She has disappointed punters throughout her preparation, and that’s not good enough form to win the Queensland Oaks.
Punters get massive odds, but we’re not enticed.
(7) Socks Nation ($71.00)
She hasn’t done much wrong this preparation, but it has come at levels much below this level.
Can’t be recommended here.
(8) Miss Jolene ($17.00)
Money has come for her throughout the week after running nicely for third last time out.
Barrier 22 could turn off a few punters, but Miss Jolene is worth including in selections.
(9) Ahuriri ($5.50)
Already a two-time winner this preparation, and her win two back is excellent staying form.
Having John Allen in the saddle helps because he’s a strong rider, and you need that over 2400m.
(10) Good Banter ($23.00)
She won well two back at Randwick, which should be a good form guide in Queensland.
Jamie Kah rides and she could get the best out of her mount.
(11) Mare of Mt Buller (Best Each Way – $9.00)
We loved the way she hit the line to finish second in the Roses, and that’s the best form guide for this race.
Punters get value odds, and they could shorten throughout the week.
(12) Our Gold Hope ($31.00)
She has been right around the mark throughout her career, but this is a step up in class.
We think she’ll struggle against the opposition.
(13) Oceans of Energy ($101.00)
Triple figure odds and we can’t see her threatening to win.
(14) Kind Words ($20.00)
She’s only a one-time winner, but we’re including her in first four pick.
Kind Words is a stayer in the truest sense, so she’s worth backing.
(15) Gentileschi ($41.00)
She owns good winning form, but she would need to lift to beat this field.
(16) Unique Ambition ($67.00)
She’s in good hands with John Sargent, who knows how to train stayers. However, because of the depth of this field, we can’t have her.
(17) Concello ($41.00)
In good hands with Chris Waller, but this looks too tough for her.
(18) Firestorm ($41.00)
Another Waller-trained runner who could be out of her depth.
(19) Callistemon ($101.00)
Looked good earlier this prep, but she won’t worry them.
(20) Grey Ice ($46.00)
A three-time winner this campaign, and it’s a nice type in the making, but at much easier levels.
(21) Kenyada ($91.00)
Unlikely to run, and unlikely to win.
(22) Ala Moana ($67.00)
Scored well last time out, but we can’t have her here.
(23) Ring Me Up ($126.00)
She won’t be running.
