Railway Stakes Form Guide & Tips

1. Kementari ($13) Bet @ Sportsbet

A former top liner that hasn’t been at his best for some time now. Better when third last start but he will only attract loyal punters.

2. Material Man ($46) Bet @ Sportsbet

He ended his last campaign with consecutive wins and he is a three-time winner in a fresh up state.

Money has come for him at juicy odds, so we wouldn’t be leaving him out of selections.

3. Gailo Chop ($35) Bet @ Sportsbet

Runs the odd good race but he looks a little one-paced for the distance. Had this race been over 2000m, he might have had a chance.

4. Kay Cee ($6) Bet @ Sportsbet

A talented mare that owns seven wins from only 12 starts. A three-time winner at Ascot and although not in our top selections, she is a must-have for multiples.

5. Spiritual Warrior ($151) Bet @ Sportsbet

Three consecutive wins but they came over longer distances. He will find these much too quick, hence the triple-figure odds.

6. Taxagano ($41) Bet @ Sportsbet

His last two starts have been only fair and more was expected of him. Drawing barrier four will help and he has been specked at odds, but this is a tough race.

7. Great Shot ($61) Bet @ Sportsbet

Not in great form heading into a Group 1 contest. He would need to regain the form of old, but that’s unlikely.

8. Red Can Man (Best Each Way – $8.50) Bet @ Sportsbet

Plenty to like about his second placing at Ascot behind Kay Cee and although he’ll need to turn the tables, he has the ability.

Punters are getting a good price with Red Can Man, and dropping to 53.5kg is a big bonus.

9. Cup Night ($26) Bet @ Sportsbet

He is a six-time winner at Ascot, so that is a positive. However, none of those wins have come this season and he has lost some of his speed.

10. Dance Music ($41) Bet @ Sportsbet

She scored an overdue win last start, which turned around some fairly moderate form. Her form at Ascot reads well and she is unbeaten at this distance.

$41 is a price worth taking for long-shot punters.

11. Inspirational Girl (Best Bet – $3.60) Bet @ Sportsbet

She hails from the right stable and with eight wins from 10 starts, she has made a professional start to her career.

Having William Pike in the saddle is a bonus and carrying only 53kg should see her fighting out the finish.

$3.70 is a value price for a classy mare.

12. Missile Launch ($81) Bet @ Sportsbet

Drifting significantly in the betting and he could start as a triple-figure runner. Looks to be well-held for this race.

13. Platoon ($14) Bet @ Sportsbet

Shorter in the betting than we expected, but we can’t have him in our selections. There are better runners to choose from at similar odds.

14. Too Close The Sun ($6) Bet @ Sportsbet

Coming off a dominant win at Ascot where he scored by 4.3 lengths. He would have been shorter in the betting had he not drawn barrier 16.

With luck, he could figure in the finish and he’s a must-have for first-four players.

15. Truly Great (Best Roughie – $12) Bet @ Sportsbet

Rattled off four consecutive wins and the son of Dundeel is in the right hands. He is the second elect for the stable, but every chance of causing an upset.

$12 is well worth taking.

16. Uni Time ($51) Bet @ Sportsbet

Solid efforts of late and his overall record is good, but he doesn’t appear to be a Group 1 winner in the waiting.

Arctic Stream – $201
Media Baron – $201
Pym’s Royale – $126
True Attraction – $51
