Randwick horse racing tips
Race 1. (11:35) Widden Kindergarten Stakes (1100m)
#1 – Paulele @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Paulele had no luck last time out at Flemington and he hasn’t had much luck over his last two starts.
The James Cummings-trained colt scored two brilliant wins to start his career and punters get value odds on Saturday.
Damien Oliver rides and although he meets a tough field, Paulele should be right in the finish.
Race 2. (12:10) Fujitsu General Carbine Club (1600m)
#4 – The Irishman @ $2.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Irishman is a Kiwi-bred runner that owns two wins and two placings from five starts.
He comes off a second placing behind Hungry Heart and that form has since been franked at Group 1 level.
With only 56kg on his back and Josh Parr in the saddle, The Irishman looks the hardest to beat and punters get respectable odds.
Race 3. (12:45) Newhaven Country Champs Final (1400m)
#3 – Art Cadeau @ $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Art Cadeau is one of the most consistent runners in Australia. The four-year-old owns four wins and six second placings from 10 starts.
He dug deep to score the qualifier for this race and he has experience winning at Randwick, which is a big bonus over this field.
Punters can’t go wrong backing this consistent runner and he should get every chance off an inside barrier draw.
Race 4. (13:20) Tab Adrian Knox Stakes (2000m)
#5 – Duais @ $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Duais comes off a win at Warwick Farm and although facing a rise in class, she could be a nice type in the making.
The Edward Cummings-trained three-year-old scored by a half-length over the mile and rising to 2000m should suit her perfectly.
It’s another good ride for Hugh Bowman and he should get a sweet run from barrier two. Expect her to settle just behind the speed and pop out for a winning run in the straight.
Race 5. (13:55) Schweppes Chairman’s Quality (2600m)
#4 – Quick Thinker @ $14 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Quick Thinker hasn’t lived up to his potential since winning the Australian Derby, but that could all change on Saturday.
The Kiwi runner hasn’t been too far away this season and although beaten in all three runs, he has been waiting for this trip.
He has been respected in betting markets at $14 and we expect his price to hold around that level. It’s a value price and we wouldn’t overlook his chances.
Race 10. (17:10) China Horse Club PJ Bell Stakes (1200m)
#8 – Najmah @ $10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Najmah has been beaten at her last two starts but she hasn’t been disgraced when running second.
The Hawkes-trained three-year-old was beaten by Irish Angel last time out and this is a rise in class. However, she drops right down in weight with 54kg on her back.
$10 is good shopping for a runner with plenty of upside.
