We have expert betting tips for the card this Saturday at Randwick, which features nine quality betting races.
The Group 1 Winx Stakes headlines the nine-race card and what an incredible day of racing it will be. The Silver Slipper Stakes and Up & Coming Stakes are just two of the great undercard races.
It’s time to gear up for another spring carnival.
Randwick free tips & form
Race 1. (12:05) TAB Highway Handicap C2 (1100m)
#13 – Bellarina Magic – Bet Now
Comes into this with back-to-back wins and that form is tough to look past in this grade.
The Brett Cavanough-trained filly scored a very handy 4.3-length win at Tamworth two back before doing enough to win last start.
Drawing wide here isn’t ideal but she has plenty of upside and Kerrin McEvoy in the saddle.
Race 2. (12:40) City Tattersalls Club BM78 (1600m)
#2 – Travancore – Bet Now
Not the hardest field to beat here and he was scratched from a similar midweek race on Wednesday.
The Clare Cunningham-trained six-year-old is travelling nicely this preparation with two wins from its last four starts.
His most recent win came easily by 2.8 lengths at Warwick Farm and against only a small field here, he could take advantage again.
Race 3. (13:15) Up & Coming Stakes (1300m)
#3 – True Detective @ $2.70 – Bet Now
True Detective was a little unlucky when running second behind Misteed last start but he’s a nice type in the making.
He’s a three-year-old colt which scored a good win on debut before running consecutive second placings.
This field is no easier than those but he maps nicely from barrier three and James McDonald takes the ride. That’s a positive and early money has come.
$3.30 into $2.70 and his odds will continue to firm.
Race 4. (13:50) Gold Coast BM78 Trophy (2400m)
#10 – Waka – Bet Now
Punters should overlook the fourth-place finish from Waka last start. She got too far back on a slow pace and running fourth was a credit to her ability.
James Cummings lines up the four-year-old which showed off a good turn-of-foot prior when winning two in a row.
Those wins should hold her in good stead for this and dropping down to 54.5kg is only going to help her chances in this.
Race 5. (14:25) Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m)
#3 – Libertini @ $1.75 – Bet Now
We’re excited about seeing Libertini this campaign and we’re not alone. Trainer Anthony Cummings has already labeled the filly as one of his best and that’s a good sign.
She was a thrilling winner at her last two starts, which included a 3.3-length win at Randwick and a two-length win at Scone.
Her blistering turn-of-foot is going to win her many more races and her only defeat came behind the highly-talented Bivouac.
Race 6. (15:05) Show County Quality (1200m)
#7 – Deprive @ $3.30 – Bet Now
Deprive is another quality runner for James Cummings which has a four-run winning streak coming into this.
The five-year-old has won six from nine and he looked super impressive when coming from behind to win at Randwick last start.
His recent trial was only fair but he wasn’t asked to do much.
Punters are getting $3.30 for this race and those odds are fair.
Race 8. (16:25) Toy Show Quality (1100m)
#8 – Notation @ $6.50 – Bet Now
Notation isn’t the best horse in this race but her consistency rewards punters and they’re getting good odds.
The Matthew Dale-trained four-year-old has a record of nine starts for five wins and three placings. Her most recent start was a second placing behind Smartedge which came by a nose.
She was good enough to place behind My Pendant twice in Melbourne and that form is starting to stack up nicely.
Fit runner with plenty of upside.
Race 9. (17:05) Kogaroo BM88 (1400m)
#11 – Roheryn @ $2 – Bet Now
Yet another smart type from the Cummings stable, Roheryn is at surprisingly good odds for this.
The winner of three from four was too good for them at Randwick last start and he is a real nice type in the making.
It’s good to see the stable targeting something a little easier and down at 55kg, he looks a good bet at the even-money odds.
