Randwick horse racing tips & form

Race 1. (12:50) Sky Racing Maiden Handicap (1550m)

#2 – Spitfire @ $2.25 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Gary Portelli-trained three-year-old finished second on debut at Gosford and that form should stack up nicely for this contest.

He was only a length behind the winner in heavy track conditions and the son of Pierro should have a better chance on a good surface.

It’s a good sign to see betting support and drawing barrier three should see him land into a good position with Josh Parr in the saddle.

Race 2. (13:25) Astern @ Darley Maiden (1100m)

#6 – Sir Crackle @ $3.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Sir Crackle was disappointing after setting the pace last start, but he should find this easier and we’re expecting a bounce back effort.

The three-year-old finished eighth behind Silent Impact and that form has stacked up nicely since, so he should be right in contention.

After opening at $4.80, his odds have firmed considerably. That’s a good sign and punters should take the odds available.

Race 3. (14:00) Heineken Maiden (1100m)

#10 – Trifaccia @ $2.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Most of the money has come for Trifaccia. The James Cummings-trained three-year-old owns two placings from three starts and she won’t take long to break through.

The daughter of I Am Invincible finished third on this track on debut before running third behind Glistening two back. That is a good form guide and she looked good in a recent trial at Hawkesbury.

Having James McDonald in the saddle is ideal and her odds should stay around the $2.20.

Race 4. (14:35) The Agency Real Estate BM72 (1800m)

#5 – Yukon @ $4.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

We’re prepared to give Yukon another chance and punters get each-way odds. The Hawkes-trained four-year-old owns two wins and three placings from seven starts, so he hasn’t been too far away.

There was plenty of betting support last time out at Randwick when running fourth behind Kutayha, but he could turn the tables and produce the goods.

Tommy Berry rides from barrier two and that could be enough to see him fighting out the finish.

Race 5. (15:10) Bowermans Furniture BM72 (1550m)

#2 – Yiyi @ $1.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Punters have to take skinny odds for Yiyi, but the Chris Waller-trained four-year-old should be getting the job done.

He scored back-to-back wins at Newcastle and Rosehill, with the latest coming by three lengths over a much stronger field than what he faces here.

It’s another good ride for James McDonald and he should be able to steer the favourite to the line.

Race 6. (15:45) Tab BM72 (1550m)

#7 – Mystic Rebel @ $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet

There has been steady betting moves for Mystic Rebel, who broke maiden grades in style with a 2.3-length win at Kembla Grange last month.

The Mark Newnham-trained mare by Dissident was the odds-on favourite for that race, so punters get value odds on Wednesday and they’re worth taking.

Drawing the inside is ideal and her odds have been slashed from an opening quote of $4.40, which is a sizable move.

Race 7. (16:20) Vinery Stud BM72 (1100m)

#6 – Parksville @ $3.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Parksville owns three wins from four starts, and although he hasn’t faced this level of opposition, he has been winning easily.

The son of Vancouver scored by 2.5 lengths at Coffs Harbour last start and prior to that he won by two lengths at Ballina.

Rising to city grade is never easy, but he has talent and bookmakers are respecting his chances, so he’s worth including in selections.
