Randwick horse racing tips
Race 1. (15:10) Sky Racing Active Maiden (1400m)
#2 – Indigenous – Bet Now
The Waterhouse/Bott combination lines up the filly which made a good start to her career.
She finished a half-length behind the winner at Canterbury on debut and she should find this race more to her likely.
That was a tough maiden race and with Nash Rawiller in the saddle off the inside draw, expect a tough performance.
Race 2. (15:45) Exceed And Excel @ Darley Maiden (1400m)
#1 – Royal Marine – Bet Now
Chris Waller lines up the three-year-old colt which has run two good races to date.
The son of Uncle Mo finished third on debut behind Lucicello, which has since gone on to win another couple of races.
He then ran second behind Academy after trying to lead all the way. That tactical pace will hold him in good stead for this.
Tough from the draw but the market will indicate his chances.
Race 3. (16:20) Vinery Stallions BM70 (1100m)
#4 – Aquitaine – Bet Now
Aquataine justified her favouritism last start when scoring by a length at Rosehill.
The James Cummings-trained three-year-old ran two good races last season behind the likes of Blazing Miss and Betcha Flying.
She looks well-placed to win here again with Hugh Bowman in the saddle and although it’s a rise in class, she could progress through the grades nicely.
Drawn to get a favourable run from barrier three.
Race 4. (16:55) Heineken BM70 (2400m)
#3 – Quality Seeker – Bet Now
The Maher/Eustace team lines up the five-year-old which got back to winning form emphatically last start.
He scored by 5.3 lengths as the $3 favourite and anything close to that form would see him winning again.
It’s tough to overlook a run of that quality and the European import could have the class edge over this field.
Worth putting on top but the odds might be a touch skinny.
Race 5. (17:35) Bowermans Office Furniture BM70 (1100m)
#3 – Bubbles Ball – Bet Now
Bubbles Ball has a stack of talent and even though she has won three from nine, she could have easily won more.
The Kris Lees-trained mare has five second placings and the majority of those were unlucky runs.
Her turn-of-foot will win her many more races and her fresh up form reads well. She has scored a win and a placing from two fresh starts.
It’s tough to look past her form despite taking on a slick field here.
Race 6. (18:15) Grunt @ Yulong BM70 (1400m)
#10 – Moreno – Bet Now
Chris Waller lines up the three-year-old gelding which hasn’t been easy to follow, but could be worth a punt here.
The son of Charm Spirit has won once from six starts with two placings, but many of those haven’t been accurate reflections of his ability.
He owns enough speed to be a factor in races like this and just needs some luck in running. Drawing barrier 10 hurts but he might sit back and launch late.
Race 7. (18:45) TAB BM70 (1000m)
#8 – Witherspoon – Bet Now
Witherspoon has taken on some tough opposition in her time and she should find this much easier.
The four-year-old mare owns one win from 13 starts but also seven minor placings. She should have won more races but has run into some nice types throughout her career.
Punters should be expecting a good run here and she’s good enough to win over this distance.
