Randwick horse racing tips
Race 1. (13:15) The Agency Real Estate BM78 (2400m)
#3 – Harpo Marx @ $3.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Harpo Marx has been around the mark throughout his career, which includes four wins and five placings from 17 starts.
He comes off a second placing at Rosehill behind Great House, and we’re expecting the form out of that race to stack up nicely.
He has beaten fields of this quality in the past, so put on top.
Race 2. (13:50) Silverdale Farm Pierro Plate (1100m)
#1 – Stay Inside @ $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Freedman-trained colt made a good impression when winning by 2.8 lengths on debut at Randwick.
He paid $7 to win when beating Headliner, and it was a professional effort from the son of Extreme Choice.
We’re not surprised by the odds and having James McDonald riding is a positive.
Race 3. (14:25) Tab Highway Handicap (1800m)
#2 – Lamington Drive @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Lamington Drive comes off consecutive wins at Canberra and although facing a tough field here, he has upside.
The John Bateman-trained five-year-old won over 2000m last start, so he’s dropping in distance. However, it shouldn’t worry him and they usually run the Highway’s at a quick speed.
Hugh Bowman rides and punters get value odds.
Race 4. (15:05) Robrick Lodge Triscay Stakes (1200m)
#6 – Tailleur @ $1.75 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Tailleur runs at the odds-on favourite after making a quality start to her career. She owns five wins and two placings from seven starts, so she’s heading to the top.
The James Cummings-trained mare scored by three lengths against a tough field last start, and there is plenty of improvement to come.
Her recent trial was solid, so punters should expect her to win.
Race 5. (15:45) ACY Securities BM88 (1600m)
#5 – New Arrangement @ $6.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Punters should keep the faith with New Arrangement, which has finished second in two starts following a win.
The five-year-old gelding scored a win at Randwick and he has since run second behind Sacramento on two occasions. There is no Sacramento in this race, which helps.
Punters get value odds and he represents value.
Race 6. (16:25) Cellarbrations Southern Cross Stakes (1200m)
#7 – Masked Crusader @ $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Strong money is coming for the talented but enigmatic Masked Crusader. The Hawkes-trained gelding is a three-time winner from seven starts, and his recent trial speaks volumes.
He scored a two-length trial win at Rosehill and he is unbeaten in two starts at this distance, so we’re expecting a big effort on Saturday.
The $2.50 could firm to an odds-on quote.
Race 7. (17:05) Yulong Apollo Stakes (1400m)
#6 – Verry Elleegant @ $3.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Kiwi is all class and she looks set to win her 12th race from 26 attempts on Saturday. She comes off a top-10 finish in the Melbourne Cup, and a campaign that featured multiple Group 1 wins.
Although her best form doesn’t come fresh up, the 1400m is ideal and she should get track conditions to suit.
James McDonald rides and $3.50 is a fair price from bookmakers.
Race 8. (17:40) Tab Light Fingers Stakes (1200m)
#1 – Away Game @ $3.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Away Game has been primed with two runs on the Gold Coast and she should be tough to beat on Saturday.
The Group 1-winning filly finished third behind Aim in the Magic Millions 3YO, and her form reads well for this contest.
She is unbeaten in two starts at Randwick, so returning to Randwick is ideal.
Race 9. (18:15) Ranvet BM88 (1300m)
#8 – Subedar @ $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Subedar comes off a second placing at Randwick when finishing behind All Time Legend. We expect that form to stack up nicely and his subsequent trial was solid.
He has finished in the first two home in five of his seven starts, so punters should be expecting another consistent performance.
It could pay to watch market movement on race day.
