Randwick horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:15) Tab Highway Handicap C3 (1800m)

#9 – Cap’s Boy @ $7 – Bet Now

Mark Gee lines up the three-year-old which has won two of his four career starts.

He scored by 1.8 lengths at Wagga Wagga last start and he showed a good turn-of-foot in the straight.

It was certainly a good enough performance to see him taking out a Highway Handicap race this Saturday.

Race 2. (12:50) Catanach’s BM78 (2400m)

#4– She’s Ideel @ $1.85 – Bet Now

She’s Ideel is a nice type from the Bjorn Baker stable and she could win consecutive races within two weeks.

The well-bred mare by Dundeel scored by 3.8 lengths two starts ago and backed that up with a 1.5-length win at Randwick last start.

She’s heading in the right direction and off the inside draw with only 55kg on her back, she will be tough to hold out once again.

Race 3. (13:25) Radisson Blu Hotel BM88 (1000m)

#1 – God of Thunder @ $2.60 – Bet Now

God of Thunder is a slick sprinter that owns three wins and five placings from only 11 starts.

The Hawkes-trained gelding is coming off a good campaign where he didn’t finish worse than third from five starts.

He scored a trial win by 5.3 lengths to prepare for this run and that’s a good betting guide.

We’re expecting plenty of money to come for him given the wet track conditions.

Race 4. (14:00) Darley Lonhro Plate (1000m)

#10 – Ticket to Ride @ $11 – Bet Now

Ticket to Ride has had two runs for two third placings, including a good effort behind Rulership at Randwick last start.

The two-year-old filly by Vancouver showed a good turn-of-foot to finish third and she’ll derive good benefit from that effort.

This is a smart field but she gets in with only 54kg on her back and has every chance of breaking through for her first win.

Race 5. (14:35) Cellarbrations Southern Cross (1200m)

#1 – Jungle Edge @ $3 – Bet Now

Jungle Edge lives for wet tracks and he showed that when scoring at Caulfield by a length last start.

The nine-year-old owns seven wins and six placings on a heavy track, so conditions are going to be right up his alley on Saturday.

He might be getting older but he’s still a great winning chance in the wet. $3 is a fair price from bookmakers.

Race 6. (15:10) Heineken 3 BM88 (1600m)

#7 – Attorney @ $3.40 – Bet Now

Attorney looked good winning his last two starts and he has been primed with two recent trials.

The five-year-old has won three of his six career starts and although the mile is short of his best, he scored by a length over the mile last campaign.

There’s not much between these runners and with only 54kg on his back, he should be right around the mark.

Race 7. (15:50) Light Fingers Stakes (1200m)

#4 – Libertini @ $2.60 – Bet Now

Anthony Cummings lines up the filly that has created a big impression to date.

The daughter of I Am Invincible is a high-class type that owns four wins and three placings from seven starts.

The only negative is the wide barrier draw, but wide might not be the worst place to be given the track conditions.

$2.60 will likely firm on race day.

Race 8. (16:30) Apollo Stakes (1400m)

#9 – Verry Elleegant @ $5.50 – Bet Now

The Waller-trained mare usually wants some time to mature but the conditions are ideal this Saturday.

She is unbeaten in two starts on a heavy track and she has also won four from six starts on a soft track.

That bodes well for a good run in the feature race and punters are getting each-way odds.

Race 9. (17:10) Robrick Lodge Triscay Stakes (1200m)

#5 – Pohutukawa @ $5.50 – Bet Now

Another runner that enjoys a wet track, Pohutukawa should be right around the mark.

The Cummings-trained mare is a four-time winner from 16 starts and all of those wins have come on rain-affected ground.

Her two trials to prepare for this run were average but she wasn’t asked to do much, so go on race day form.

Race 10. (17:50) Schweppes BM88 (1300m)

#5 – Roheryn @ $5 – Bet Now

Roheryn returned to winning form at Randwick last start and perhaps he’ll now live up to expectations.

The four-year-old by Lonhro scored a narrow win on the line and the return to a heavy track won’t worry him in the slightest.

He won his only start on a heavy surface, so keep him safe.
