We have expert betting tips for the card this Saturday at Rosehill that features nine quality betting races.
The Hobartville and the Silver Slipper stakes takes centre stage at Rosehill this Saturday. We look at every race on the card and provide punters with our best value bets.
Randwick horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:55) Able Doors Spark of Life Handicap (1100m)
#6 – Willowheart – Bet Now
Unbeaten form could stack up nicely in the opening race on the card. The Chris Waller-trained faces a steep rise in class but she has been terrific to date.
Her maiden win came at Randwick when leading all the way and she adopted the same tactics when scoring at Canterbury last start. Punters should expect to see her push forward again and take some catching.
Getting a good draw with 52.5kg on her back will help offset the class held by some of her opposition.
Race 2. (13:30) Tab Highway Handicap C3 (1400m)
#1 – Mr Wong – Bet Now
We love backing Mr Wong and he delivered the goods when winning at Randwick last start. The four-year-old gelding won by 2.5 lengths and he owns form on rain-affected tracks.
He’s a three-time winner from only nine starts and this is a quality Highway Handicap field, he looks the best of them.
Hugh Bowman rides off the inside draw, which helps.
Race 3. (14:05) Inglis Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m)
#6 – Cellsabeel @ $1.55 – Bet Now
Cellsabeel was scratched from the Inglis Millennium because of the track and she should enjoy conditions here a little more.
The daughter of Hinchinbrook was a devasting winner at Rosehill last start, scoring by six lengths and making her opposition look second rate.
This is a tidy field but she deserves to be the odds-on favourite.
Race 4. (14:40) Millie Fox Stakes (1300m)
#2 – Savatiano @ $1.90 – Bet Now
Punters will need to back another short-priced favourite with Savatiano, but she’s the class runner of this field.
Trained by James Cummings, the five-year-old is a winner of eight from 27 starts and three of those wins have come in a fresh-up state.
She’s able to handle all conditions and the odds are justified.
Race 5. (15:15) Blue Datto Foundation BM94 (1100m)
#8 – River Bird – Bet Now
The four-year-old has been a little tough to follow of late but she’s talented at best. She didn’t fire when ninth at Randwick on February 1, but she never races well second-up.
Conditions are ideal for her this Saturday with only 52kg on her back, and punters should get each-way odds.
Stick with her as she will get back to winning form soon.
Race 6. (15:50) Parramatta Cup (1900m)
#4 – Eastender – Bet Now
Eastender was a quality type last season and if he gets back to that form, he should be going close in this race.
The Waller-trained son of Tickets was good enough to win five consecutive races, which included some big races in Tasmania.
There isn’t a standout pick in this race, so this runner has value.
Race 7. (16:30) Arrowfield Hobartville Stakes (1400m)
#2 – Microphone @ $3.50 – Bet Now
Microphone has the benefit of having a couple of runs already this season, including a big win at Caulfield two weeks ago.
The Cummings-trained colt scored narrowly over a good field and he returned to his best form, which includes a Group 1 win over Loving Gaby.
Bowman rides and that adds to the appeal.
Race 8. (17:10) Advanced Readymix BM100 (1400m)
#2 – Cradle Mountain – Bet Now
It took Cradle Mountain some time to get back to form but he could continue that form now. The Clare Cunningham-trained gelding scored by 1.3 lengths at Randwick last start and it was a dominant display.
He’s had his problems but he’s a seven-time winner from only 17 starts. That’s a good record and it might pay to keep backing him.
Race 9. (17:50) Sharp Extensive It BM78 (1400m)
#13 – Subpoenaed – Bet Now
Subpoenaed is a runner that owns a win over Catalyst and we know how good that form is this season.
The Waller-trained Kiwi filly is coming off an easy 1.8-length win at Randwick and she deserves to be put on top of your selections again.
She has drawn wide but she will drop back and come with a big run down the outside. Her turn-of-foot will be helped by the 54.5kg.
