Randwick horse racing tips
Race 1. (13:15) Tab Highway C2 Handicap (1000m)
#6 – Water Dove @ $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Water Dove was beaten by a smart type last start and she lost no admirers when running second.
The Brett Cavanough-trained three-year-old was only a half-length behind Art Cadeau, which has since won again.
Her form reads well and we’re not surprised by the odds available.
Race 2. (13:50) Precise Air Skyline Stakes (1200m)
#1 – Shaquero @ $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Shaquero comes off a huge win in the Magic Millions and he has firmed in the Golden Slipper betting.
The Chris Waller-trained two-year-old won the Breeders’ Plate on this track on debut, so having winning experience is ideal.
He gets the inside draw and Hugh Bowman in the saddle, which only helps his chances.
Race 3. (14:25) Drinkwise Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m)
#5 – Four Moves Ahead @ $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Four Moves Ahead couldn’t have been more impressive winning on debut at Randwick. She handled the conditions best to win by 2.8 lengths against a good field.
The well-bred daughter of Snitzel gets in nicely on the weights at 55.5kg and strong money has come for her throughout the week.
Punters should expect another classy effort from the favourite.
Race 4. (15:05) Quayclean Liverpool City Cup (1300m)
#10 – Criaderas @ $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
James Cummings lines up the talented four-year-old gelding that finished third at Randwick against a tough field last start.
The son of Lonhro has always shown plenty of ability and with four wins from eight starts, he demands respect in this class.
Getting in with only 53kg is ideal and punters get value each-way odds.
Race 5. (15:45) Guy Walter Proven Thoroughbred Stakes (1400m)
#4 – Sweet Deal @ $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The John Thompson-trained mare has a solid fresh up record of seven starts for two wins and three placings, so she demands attention.
She comes off a win at Newcastle against a tough field and although she hasn’t raced since November, her two trial efforts this month have been good.
The three-time Randwick winner should be around the mark.
Race 8. (17:40) Heineken BM88 (2000m)
#10 – Great House @ $2.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
There was plenty to like about the win of Great House last start, which was a 2.8-length performance at Rosehill.
The imported son of Galileo is bred to be a good stayer and although not rising in distance, he looks well-suited at the 2000m.
Barrier 13 won’t be an issue over this distance and carrying 53kg makes him tough to hold out. Expect plenty of money to come for him throughout the week.
Race 9. (18:15) ACY Securities BM88 (1200m)
#5 – Zakat @ $3.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Zakat is a consistent type that owns three wins and 11 placings from just 17 starts. He went close at Flemington last start and getting back to Randwick should help.
The son of Lonhro owns a win and two placings at Randwick, so the track is ideal and his best form comes at this distance.
James McDonald rides and punters have already come for his opening odds of $4.50.
