Randwick horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:55) Tab Highway C2 Handicap (1000m)
#2 – Conspirator @ $4.60 – Bet Now
The three-year-old has been in work since October but that race fitness should hold him in good stead for this race. He’s coming off a second placing at Randwick and the form out of that Highway Handicap should hold steady.
He’s a son of Crowded House that could give punters plenty of value in the opening race.
Race 2. (13:30) Drinkwise Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m)
#2 – Stellar Pauline @ $3.60 – Bet Now
It’s about time Stellar Pauline won a race and the filly could cap off her impressive form this Saturday. She has finished second in all three starts behind the likes of Away Game, Every Rose, and Aim.
That’s hot form for this race and she has been primed with a recent trial win at Randwick. We’re expecting a top effort for this two-year-old and she could stake her claim for the Golden Slipper next month.
Race 3. (14:05) Schweppes Skyline Stakes (1200m)
#1 – Prague @ $2.80 – Bet Now
Form is with Prague, which has rattled off consecutive wins to open his career. The smart son of Redoute’s Choice scored by two lengths on debut before beating a quality field at Randwick.
His form stacks up beautifully for a race like this and he’s another strong contender for the Golden Slipper in March.
His odds of $2.80 should firm on race day.
Race 4. (14:40) Liverpool City Cup (1300m)
#3 – Imaging @ $4.80 – Bet Now
Imaging is a Chris Waller-trained import that has had two trials in Australia for two second placings. The former European looks to have plenty of class and they usually kick off their Australian campaigns on fire.
Bookmakers are keeping him safe in the markets at $4.80, but seeing a market push on race day would be excellent.
He represents better value than Cascadian at the odds.
Race 5. (15:15) Guy Walter Proven Thoroughbred Stakes (1400m)
#4 – Sweet Deal @ $3 – Bet Now
Sweet Deal is typically a good-track winner, so to see her winning in rain-affected track conditions last start could be a sign of things to come.
The John Thompson-trained mare is a seven-time winner on good tracks and she has finished in the money in four of her five second-up starts.
$3 is a little short but she’ll likely start around the $2.30 mark.
Race 9. (17:50) Quincy Seltzer BM88 (1200m)
#1 – Roheryn @ $5.50 – Bet Now
The Cummings-trained four-year-old lost no admirers when running second behind Vegadaze last start. He settled near last and came with a withering burst late in the race.
It was the run of a gelding that has turned the corner this preparation, and although Hugh Bowman doesn’t ride this time around, McEvoy won on him fresh up.
Punters should get each-way odds on race day.
