Randwick Guineas Form Guide & Tips

The Autumn Sun (Best Bet – $1.65) – Bet Now

Chris Waller has another quality type on his hands and despite the drift from $1.50 to $1.60, he’s the clear top pick in this race.

Despite being unsuited fresh up, he got through his gears nicely in the straight to pick up Vegadaze and the extra distance is only going to help his chances.

He’s better on top of the ground and with conditions to suit, we’re expecting this champion three-year-old to conquer them again.

Madison County ($16) – Bet Now

Kiwi three-year-old which won the Group 1 Levin Classic two back before running third in the Karaka Million 3YO behind Australian Long Leaf.

That was a solid performance and co-trainer Murray Baker has a good record coming over and winning Australian age-group races but he might be bit below the best on offer here.

Punters are at least getting good odds.

Vegadaze (Best Roughie – $9.50) – Bet Now

Hard to call this talented type a “roughie” but the odds on offer are generous, especially given his run for second behind The Autumn Sun last start.

Anthony Cummings lines up the Lope De Vega gelding which won his first three starts impressively. He has good tactical speed, which should see him clear clear on the turn and it will be up to the rest of the field to catch him.

Tempo will dictate his chances.

Aramayo ($23) – Bet Now

Ridden poorly by Hugh Bowman last time out and he arguably should have won. That came in a much easier race and it would be a surprise to see him winning this.

First four looks his best hope.

Diplomatico ($23) – Bet Now

Only battled to the line last start and he doesn’t look a winning chance in this. The colt by Snitzel could mature into a nice group three type but winning a Randwick Guineas looks too tough.

$23 and will likely pay more on the day.

Purple Sector ($23) – Bet Now

Will either look to get on the back of The Autumn Sun or try get a few lengths on the favourite in the straight.

He’s a Pins colt which has a nice turn-of-foot. That will win him plenty of races and his form this season reads well, but he has 4.7 lengths to make up on The Autumn Sun and Vegadaze from last start.

Can’t see that much improvement in between runs.

Nakeeta Jane (Best Each Way – $5.50) – Bet Now

Scored a tough win in the Group 1 Surround Stakes against the fillies last start and that holds her in good stead for races like the Oaks.

Can she win this race? She can, but going up against the boys will be tough and she would have needed to recover quickly from a wide run last time out.

Has class and is going places so consider on an each-way basis.

Fundamentalist ($15) – Bet Now

Narrowly went down in the Surround Stakes and she’s a filly that keeps fighting but finds it tough to win a race.

Carrying 54.5kg helps but she will likely struggle to win this. Could lob into a minor position.

Miss Fabulass ($27) – Bet Now

Another coming out of the Surround Stakes but this filly hasn’t performed for a while now and she looks no chance of winning.

Nothing more than a stab in the dark for connections.
