Randwick horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:25) Petaluma BM72 (1100m)

#4 – Silent Impact @ $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The three-year-old made an impact by winning his first two starts before running seventh behind Giannis.

He is a smart son of Maurice who should hit the ground running and we expect him to push forward from the draw.

Tim Clark is a quality pace rider, so put him on top.

Race 2. (13:00) Heineken 3 Handicap (1000m)

#1 – Zambezi River @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Zambezi River cost $1.15 million and it looked good when running second behind a speedy type on debut.

The son of I Am Invincible was expected to be shorter in betting markets, which is a concern, but we’ll take the odds available.

Hugh Bowman rides and punters should be confident.

Race 3. (13:35) Tab Highway Handicap (1100m)

#1 – Shelby Sixtysix @ $6.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Danny Williams-trained gelding hasn’t won in some time, but we’re keeping the faith with the son of Tornado.

He looked to have plenty of ability early on, but with only two wins from 16 starts, he hasn’t lived up to expectations. However, punters get value odds here.

Include him in selections at the price.

Race 4. (14:10) City Tattersalls Group BM78 (1600m)

#7 – And We Danced @ $3.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Chris Waller lines up the talented three-year-old filly who went close behind Arctic Thunder last time out.

The daughter of Wrote owns a win and two second placings from four starts, and she will likely push forward and try to run them into the ground.

Carrying 54kg is ideal and it could make all the difference.

Race 5. (14:45) Midway BM72 (1800m)

#2 – Jungle Book @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Jungle Book is the loose favourite and he produced a much better effort for second at Warwick Farm last start.

The six-year-old son of Animal Kingdom has yet to race at Randwick, but he should enjoy the circuit and he runs best over this distance.

The odds make him worth the risk in a tricky field.

Race 6. (15:20) Precise Air BM88 (2000m)

#4 – Toomuchtobear @ $2.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Waller-trained son of Press Statement went close last start after winning fresh up at Randwick.

Having winning experience on this track is ideal and he’s a smart type in the making, so we think he could continue racing well.

Getting the inside draw is ideal and he should use it to his advantage.

Race 7. (16:00) ACY Securities BM78 (1100m)

#8 – Nikohli Beagle @ $6.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

That was an impressive fresh up win from Nikohli Beagle, who is a noted fresh up performer, but he could kick on with it.

The son of Nicconi let down with a big effort late and having the fitness in his legs shouldn’t do him any harm.

It’s a tough field but punters get each-way odds worth taking.

Race 8. (16:40) The Agency Carrington Stakes (1400m)

#2 – Purple Sector @ $6.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Purple Sector comes off consecutive second placings and he deserves a winning performance.

The John Thompson-trained six-year-old has yet to win over this distance from seven attempts, but he’s getting his confidence back.

A win looks close and the odds are worth snapping up.

Race 9. (17:20) Ranvet BM88 (1600m)

#5 – Yiyi @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet

There is strong betting support for Yiyi and it’s not hard to see why. He owns five wins and seven placings from 16 starts, including a win at his only start on the track.

He is always around the mark and it took a smart horse to beat him last time out, so we think he can go one better.

Take the value available as it won’t last long.

Race 10. (18:00) Bowermans BM78 (1400m)

#10 – Waihaha Falls @ $3.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Waihaha Falls looked good scoring at Rosehill two back before not much getting much luck last time out.

The John O’Shea-trained son of Sacred Falls has since had a soft trial at Randwick and that should top him off nicely on Saturday.

We’re expecting a bounce back effort.
