Randwick horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (12:50) Grunt Standing at Yulong Maiden (1150m)
#4 – My Girl Ruby – Bet Now
My Girl Ruby has good trial form leading into her debut and she could turn in an impressive outing.
The two-year-old won by 1.3 lengths at Warwick Farm before running second at Rosehill. She could fire up in these conditions and Brenton Avdulla is riding well this year.
A market push would add to the confidence.
Race 2. (13:25) Yes Yes Yes @ Coolmore Maiden (1150m)
#2 – Gunnamatta – Bet Now
The Freedman-trained colt made a solid debut when running second at Warwick Farm and he could go one better here.
He showed good natural pace and was only beaten less than a length. The son of Headwater backed up some trial form and that counts for plenty here.
Drawing barrier four is ideal and nice odds should be available.
Race 3. (14:00) Harry Angel @ Darley BM66 (1250m)
#10 – Hyannis Port – Bet Now
Hyannis Port has finished in the money in four of her five starts and she could continue her good record.
The three-year-old filly finished a length behind the winner last start at Newcastle and she is bred to improve with time.
She is a daughter of Redoute’s Choice and she is progressive.
Race 4. (14:35) Exceedance New To Vinery BM70 (1250m)
#7 – This Is So – Bet Now
The Anthony Cummings-trained gelding scored back-to-back wins last year and he could fire fresh up.
His wins came at Newcastle and on this track, so having that track experience should do him plenty of good.
He has been primed for this run with two trials runs, so expect a top effort.
Race 5. (15:10) Sky Racing Active BM74 (1800m)
#10 – Savigne – Bet Now
Savigne turned around some average form with a win at Canterbury last time out. The Chris Waller-trained mare pounced on the lead in the straight and she could kick on with it.
She is a daughter of Ocean Park that is a quality type on her day. Her best form would take her close and punters could get juicy odds.
She gets barrier four and jockey Kerrin McEvoy is riding well.
Race 6. (15:45) Bowermans Furniture BM70 (1550m)
#8 – Le Gai Soleil – Bet Now
The John O’Shea-trained filly has looked the goods recently and she could go on with it. She scored by 3.3 lengths last time out and getting James McDonald in the saddle is ideal.
She is a daughter of Tavistock that handles all conditions and despite drawing barrier 12, she should get into the best part of the track.
We are expecting bookmakers to have her right in the market and she will be a popular pick on race day.
Race 7. (16:20) TAB BM70 (1150m)
#3 – Best Stone – Bet Now
Best Stone is a consistent three-year-old filly that has finished in the money in all seven career starts.
The John Thompson-trained daughter of I Am Invincible ended her last campaign with consecutive wins and she could fire up early here.
Her only start at Randwick resulted in a placing and having Nash Rawiller in the saddle is only going to help her chances.
