Randwick horse racing tips
Race 1. (11:00) ACY Securities Handicap (1100m)
#9 – Sir Crackle @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Sir Crackle runs on debut for Bjorn Baker after looking good at the trials. The two-year-old son of Choisir won all three trials, with the latest coming at Canterbury by three lengths.
His previous trial was a 5.3-length romp, so he’s loving trial work and that could show up on race day.
Punters get value odds in the opener.
Race 2. (11:35) Ranvet BM72 (1500m)
#9 – Allinthistogether @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Allinthistogether comes off a heavy-track win at Gosford and she looks capable of handling the steep rise in class.
The Mark Newnham-trained three-year-old looks to have a bright future and she’s by Shocking, so expect to see her rise in distance soon.
Dropping to 1500m isn’t ideal, but punters get odds worth taking.
Race 3. (12:10) Tab Highway C3 Handicap (1400m)
#1 – Casino Kid @ $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Casino Kid was too strong for them at Randwick last start and a repeat could be on the cards this Saturday.
The three-year-old scored a 2.3-length win against a field of 16 and he hit the line with purpose, which suggests he can handle the rise in weight.
The slight drop in distance shouldn’t matter too much and $6 is a generous price from bookmakers.
Race 4. (12:45) Hyland Race Colours BM78 (1100m)
#4 – De Grawin @ $4.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The four-year-old daughter of Snitzel owns four wins from eight starts and that record can’t be overlooked.
She comes off two winless starts, but her effort behind Malkovich at Randwick has since been franked at a high level.
It’s an even field and she could take advantage.
Race 5. (13:20) Schweppes BM78 (2000m)
#8 – Our Intrigue @ $4.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Punters are waiting patiently for Our Intrigue to show up this campaign and we’re giving the Kiwi mare one more chance.
She has finished fourth in her last three starts, including behind Zing at Rosehill last start. That was a sound effort and she didn’t get much luck.
James McDonald rides and that adds to confidence levels.
Race 6. (13:55) Geohex Sprint BM78 (1100m)
#2 – The Bopper @ $3.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Value is with The Bopper, which owns a win and a placing fresh up. He hits the ground running and he also owns a win at Randwick and at the distance.
The son of Nicconi has looked good in two trials to prepare and we expect money to come for him on race day.
$3.90 is well worth taking.
Race 7. (14:35) Midway BM72 (1300m)
#4 – Royal Banquet @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The four-year-old gelding hasn’t won at his last three starts, but he owns four wins from eight stars and that form can’t be overlooked.
He wasn’t too far behind Papal Warrior last start and the heavy track didn’t suit, so the slight improvement is up his alley.
3kg comes off his back and he has the class to win this race.
Race 8. (15:15) Drinkwise Winter Stakes (1400m)
#6 – Rubisaki @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Rubisaki was a top age-group filly and although she has struggled as a mare, her last two starts have been excellent.
The Patrick Payne-trained mare finished second behind Dice Roll at Flemington and that form should hold up nicely in Sydney.
She is unbeaten in two starts at Randwick, so keep her safe.
Race 9. (15:55) Heineken BM88 (1200m)
#5 – I Am Power @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Mark Newnham-trained son of Power scored a win at Rosehill last start and he’s capable of going back-to-back.
He owns four wins from 10 starts and he has yet to finish worse than second from two starts on a soft track. Conditions are ideal and we wouldn’t leave him off our tickets.
Race 10. (16:30) The Agency Real Estate BM78 (1400m)
#4 – Blondeau @ $4.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Value is with Blondeau, which looked good winning fresh up and a repeat of that would easily be good enough.
The Chris Waller-trained three-year-old is always around the mark, and although yet to win at Randwick, it’s only a matter of time.
$4.40 is well worth taking.
