Randwick horse racing tips
Race 1. (11:35) Newhaven Park BM72 (1300m)
#2 – Travest @ $3.70 – Bet Now
Travest is an unbeaten runner that scored both wins at Warwick Farm. The three-year-old won by two lengths last time out and he looks a nice type in the making.
He has shown an ability to handle the wet tracks and despite drawing barrier 13, Tommy Berry could give him a good run throughout.
Race 2. (12:10) Tab Highway Handicap (1000m)
#12 – Leo – Bet Now
Leo has won only one from eight but he also has three placings to his name. The son of I Am Invincible gets in with only 54.5kg on his back and a good draw.
Drawing barrier two should see him right around the mark and this isn’t the strongest Highway Handicap we have ever seen.
Race 3. (12:45) Grunt Standing at Yulong BM70 (1100m)
#5 – Best Stone – Bet Now
Best Stone was scratched from an easier race during the week and that could be a good sign for this race.
The John Thompson-trained filly enters this race following consecutive wins and she usually hits the ground running.
Drawing barrier 10 could be problematic but expect there to be plenty of pace in this race.
Race 4. (13:20) Quincy Seltzer BM88 (1800m)
#7 – Mr Dependable @ $2.60 – Bet Now
Mr Dependable enters this race following a second placing at Randwick where he went down fighting.
The four-year-old is a three-time winner from nine starts and although unable to win from his last four attempts, he should go close here.
Dropping to 54kg is ideal and that could make all the difference.
Race 5. (13:55) Ranvet BM78 (1000m)
#4 – Broken Arrows @ $6.50 – Bet Now
We are sticking with Broken Arrows despite it being backed and beaten a couple of times this season.
The four-year-old has finished in the money in 13 of his 19 starts, so he is supremely consistent and worth sticking with.
Punters are getting good odds and they could shorten on race day.
Race 6. (14:30) Tab Live Vision BM78 (2400m)
#3 – Elaborate – Bet Now
Elaborate has been in good form this preparation, which includes two wins and two placings from its last four starts.
The Freedman-trained gelding scored back-to-back wins at Hawkesbury and Newcastle before running twice at Randwick.
He has a good turn-of-foot and should be right in the finish.
Race 7. (15:10) Sky Racing Active BM78 (1400m)
#2 – Zourhea – Bet Now
Zourhea resumed with a handy fifth at Randwick and she is unbeaten from three starts when second-up.
The Gerald Ryan-trained mare might go under the radar here, but it is tough to overlook that statistic. She loves racing with a run under her belt and it is another good ride for Tommy Berry.
Expect her to be right in the thick of the finish.
Race 8. (15:50) Heineken 3 BM78 (1300m)
#4 – Cristal Breeze – Bet Now
The imported runner made a good impression when winning at Canterbury fresh up and he could kick on with it.
He is a former European runner that paid good odds fresh up and seeing James McDonald in the saddle only gives us more confidence.
Drawing barrier two is ideal and punters could get each-way odds.
Race 9. (16:30) Drinkwise BM78 (1600m)
#12 – Adana – Bet Now
These colours have been flying recently and Adana could add to the recent success. The Waller-trained runner has been solid this prep without winning, but consider here.
The gelding should pay a good price with bookmakers and although his form at Randwick is only fair, the last race can often produce an upset result.
