Randwick horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (12:50) Tab Maiden (1100m)
#11 – Ramones @ $5 – Bet @ PlayUp
The two-year-old gelding ran second on debut at Warwick Farm and there is little wrong with that form going forward.
He was 3.3 lengths behind the winner but it was a tough maiden field and he has been best-backed to score.
His opening odds of $9 were quickly taken and he could start even shorter with bookmakers on race day.
Race 2. (13:25) The Agency Maiden Plate (1100m)
#8 – Pozesana @ $14 – Bet @ PlayUp
Chris Waller lines up the two-year-old filly who comes off a trial placing at Rosehill.
The daughter of Deep Field will need some favours from the wide barrier of 14, but she’s in good hands and jockey Tommy Berry has been riding in excellent form.
Waller often trains double-figure odds winners and Pozasana could be another.
Race 3. (14:00) Hyland Race Colours BM72 (1800m)
#1 – Spanish Point @ $7.50 – Bet @ PlayUp
Spanish Point has yet to fire in five starts at Randwick but the seven-year-old wasn’t far away when running fourth here two back.
The son of Frankel didn’t handle the heavy surface at Dubbo last start and three of his five wins have come on good tracks.
Bowman rides and punters have climbed into the early odds and backed him into $7.50.
Race 4. (14:35) Vinery Yearlings BM72 (1550m)
#3 – Propose a Toast @ $5 – Bet @ PlayUp
Propose a Toast is rarely too far away from the prize and the four-year-old has been met with betting support.
The son of Excelebration won four starts back at Canberra and he has since recorded two placings, so he’s right on the edge of winning again.
We love the way Tommy Berry is riding and the $5 is worth taking against an even betting field.
Race 5. (15:10) First Justify Yearlings BM64 (1000m)
#10 – The Rockwell Scale @ $5.50 – Bet @ PlayUp
The Rockwell Scale ran third on debut at Gosford before improving to win at Hawkesbury last time out.
He is a three-year-old gelding by All Too Hard, who scored by a half-length over a tidy maiden field and that form stacks up nicely.
Barrier five is ideal and punters get each-way odds worth taking.
Race 6. (15:45) China Horse Club BM72 (1100m)
#3 – Monte Ditto @ $5.50 – Bet @ PlayUp
After two runs this preparation, we expect Monte Ditto to perform at his best on Wednesday.
The six-year-old son of Zoustar is a past winner at Randwick and after finishing fourth at Warwick Farm, he’s ready to show his best.
Getting barrier five helps his cause and we’re happy with the odds available.
Race 7. (16:20) Ghaiyyath @ Darley BM72 (1300m)
#3 – Steel Diamond @ $3.50 – Bet @ PlayUp
Most of the early money has come for Steel Diamond, who is a three-time winner from 21 starts and she should have won more.
The daughter of Star Witness ran two placings from four starts last preparation and she comes off two tidy trials placings.
It’s another good ride for Bowman, who could have a successful day.
